Good shoes for little feet?
Dulwich Born And Bred replied to akc74's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Ditto what Mrs F said . We are a shoes off household , lots of padding around in bare feet and my family wear bare foot vivo shoes . It stimulated the correct way of walking , it's not heel to toes as most shoes stimulates, it's toes to heels. You wouldn't get my child in Clarks, no flexibility and very rigid . -
The other witness didn't say the car was going SLOW , they said not particularly fast , and I said they went fast enough to knock the girl over at a designated crossing island . I have never changed any part of what was witnessed either . I stated the girl was holding her mum hand behind her as the crossing isn't wide enough for walking side by side with too many people . Stop nit picking . All car drivers in my family , lots of mileage as well as we travel a lot but guess what , we slow right down in built up areas and we stop and let people cross , because we are nice like that you see and we recognise the potential danger of children and animals darting out in residential areas .

For someone who likes to voice her opinions at almost every single thing (DJKQ)I find it totally ironic your concern about the driver . I don't see you defending the people crossing at a designated crossing area . The mind boggled . Loz, I just pity you really . Your arguments are weak and bordering on childish as all your assumptions about me are wrong making you look idiotic .

It was a SHE. She probably didn't think she needed to slow down as she probably just saw the mother and others crossing and thought the road would be clear not realising a little girl was holding her mum's house and was behind her mum as there wasn't enough room side by side , point is , it's an island , there are people , slow right down until the road is completely clear of pedestrian . Easy enough yes ? But no , they are supposed to cross various roads and add on another ten minutes because car drivers think they shouldn't be crossing at an island and why should car drivers be considerate enough to stop and let them cross safely or slow right down?

Ha ha ha ha thanks for cheering me up Louisa!

I tend to wait on the pavement for cars to stop as with an island there I assume they will but most don't . So when that road is clear we cross , then usually a bus or car comes whizzing down so you end up on the island in the middle of the road hoping the cars/buses will either stop and let you cross the other half of the road or you try and angle yourself and the buggy on the island so that you don't get hit by cars/buses on either side . It's a stupid pointless thing to put there as it doesn't work but people run across that part of the road due to the bus stops and to head to Goodrich school Or Dulwich park . It really would benefit from a zebra crossing or pelican .

It's not a proper crossing , that is there isn't lights to make the drivers stop , it's not a zebra crossing or a pelican crossing . Just a crossing with a island , but its not useful as driver speed down upland to turn onto lordship lane, and then the buses whizz down the bus lane , so many accidents over the years along there .
