  1. hopefully that will explain why my hair is falling out, and there was me thinking it was male pattern baldness.
  2. i thought that was the idea of traditional red poppies, they remember the loss of human life and dont condone war.
  3. one of my pet hates is fellow drivers just suddenly stopping in the road,to let people cross, other drivers out etc. my motto is stop for no-one even drivers trying to force their way out,any collision and its their prob as they,re the one emerging. they tend to call it courtesy, i call it downright stupidity and dangerous, saying that you go into someones ass its your fault, and at a minimum you could get done for careless driving or driving without due care and attention.

whats the medical term for the fatty tissue that surrounds the clitoris? the wife.
  6. yeh they did screw up no one is denying that, but unfortunately the "what if" is a huge part of this argument. we know he was innocent, but what if he wasnt, what if he did have a bomb, what if he was apprehended and managed to set off a device, what if he was,t apprehended and then set off a device, what if he was stopped and found to be innocent, what if the bloke on surveillance duty had,nt went for a slash, what if,what if,what if, i could go on and on. its a tragedy what happened but given the circumstances of the day and preceding weeks then his death must be taken in the context of what was happening in london at that time, its a tragedy but is it any greater or less a tragedy than what happened on 7/7 when it could be argued that the police again failed in their duty to protect the public. as an aside i just wonder what the reaction would have been if the 7/7 bombers had been taken out before they detonated their devices, would they be villians or heroes?
  7. you,re missing the point hi-de-hi, these guys had seconds to make a decision not only to protect the public but themselves, in that they failed by not protecting the public, but given the circumstances, the scant information they had and the fact that they thought they were dealing with an armed terrorist they had no choice but to fire and be it in or outside the station the outcome would have been the same.
  8. what if he did look nervous, shifty or any thing else for that matter the police messed up but obviously thought they had a suspect, and yeh he could have been stopped outside the station on several occasions, but the reason he wasnt was because the firearms team wasnt in place, i have no doubt there was a shoot to kill policy in place and i may be a discenting voice on this but what was the option if he had have been a terrorist, let him detonate a device. the failure came at source when the officer who was doing the surveillance messed up,from then on the spiral had started and the guys who came on scene with the weapons and facing a probable armed terrorist had seconds to make a decision fire or risk a device being set of, no choice as far as im concerned.

  10. i wish she would just hop off.
  11. why should he resign, he didnt issue the orders nor pull the trigger. the ones who should face the can are the ones on surveillance duty who pretty obviously fcuked up.

  17. great service in the vale, sainsbos not too bad, but generally up and down the lane you get back what you put in, imho.

  19. when i did my nurse training back home i was a part time bingo caller 2 nights a week, got paid a pittance but got as much free alcohol as i could swallow and second hand smoke as i could inhale.
  20. bit of a pain in the ass i had probs with my eldest girls photo last year, ended up sending 3 sets of photos in with the third set on the point of being rejected until i phoned them up and pointed out that she was a child and to apply a bit of common sense, after a bit of humming and haaing they accepted the 3rd set, funny thing was they were the worst set out of the 3, poor child is now set for 5 years of funny looks at border controls the world over.
  21. have to disagree sean, the vales my local mainly because i live just up the road from it and i have never in the 15 years i have drank there ever had a problem, i always find it quite welcoming and i am treated with the respect i deserve as a paying customer. as a counter balance to that i am not too fond of several pubs up and off the lane, i have never liked the edt and positively hated the forresters and the lord p, always felt unwelcome espicially in the last one,and i once got served a pint of fizzy guinness in the clockhouse, it hasnt stopped me though from still frequenting these establishments and their reincarnations. the vale dosent deserve every kicking it gets, and i wholeheartedly agree with what serenity has to say, some of the comments left on this thread have been nothing short of a damn disgrace, but then again i suppose the vale like a few other establishments, the harvester springs to mind, dosent fit into the cosy middle class claphamite ideal of what ed should be,so its fair game to slag it to high heaven i suppose.

  23. the saddest scene in a film for me, in the name of the father, when guiseppi dies and they throw all the burning tissue paper from the cell windows in to the prison yard to the sound of some irish lament, powerful scene.
