  3. Pizzahut advertise the above product with the tag line "now add bacon". Well indeed, why not?
  4. I thought that the escalating arms race in pizza crusts had reached its zenith with the hotdog stuffed crust, but no. I give you the cheeseburger stuffed crust pizza: Bam!
  5. Lyndhurst Grove: I love this song, but Jarvis doesn't mention the pot holes.
  6. I am a sucker for a good map. Thanks for the links.
  7. Fundamentally, they have taken on far too many patients (and continue to do so).
  8. ... and actually in most parts of London prices are already above what they were then.
  9. I keep hearing how (in some areas) prices still haven't returned to 07 prices. But surely that's a good thing? 2007 was the last time that the market was dangerously overheated. 10. Banks are right to want a 20% deposit.
  11. But the point is government policy aimed at pumping up prices is (IMO) a bad idea. The fact that the policy is only just starting to take effect in the north where they have not *yet* seen a bubble doesn't make things any better. We were told that there was going to be a different type of economy. 12. London is clearly experiencing another housing bubble and what's more, we haven't just ended up here by chance - the government has actively cajoled banks to relax their lending criteria, even going as far as to underwrite 90% mortgages on behalf of the taxpayer. It's madness. We have learnt nothing from the last crash.
  13. There are several threads re. DMC if you search.

  16. ... or 'White Chicks'
  17. ... and actually, you don't have to look far to see (typically) a van careering over bumps at speed.
  18. I would opt for enforcement and education? Spend money on a lot more police to arrest dangerous drivers and on campaigns to change the culture around speeding (as we did successfully for drink driving). The problem with just putting speed bumps everywhere is that councils and police feel that to some degree they've discharged their responsibility for the issue and drivers start to act as though they're OK to put their foot down if there aren't any speed bumps about. It is one of the bluntest of tools - effecting everyone, regardless of whether they drive under the limit or not and costs a lot of money which IMO would be better spend on tackling the causes of speeding. 19. Renata / James - It was reported some time ago that Southwark Council had put ?50,000 towards the cost of a feasibility study into the proposed extension of the Bakerloo line beyond Elephant & Castle. Did anything more come of this / was it completed?
  20. I'm not sure anyone has claimed that the 'middle classes' need protecting. The point is you can't complain about snobbishness, prejudice and rudeness, whilst displaying all those characteristics yourself and expect not to be called on the inconsistency.
  21. Totally agree with michael_FH
  22. The point is Louisa - your haven't talked about inconsiderate people, but have aimed fire at a particular group whom you've lazily stereotyped. If you changed the word 'yummies', or 'posh' (which you are using in a derogatory way) for 'pikeys' then perhaps you will see how rude, judgmental and down right silly your generalisations are.
  23. I really do wish Southwark would stop with the speed bumps already.
