Because most collisions involving drivers are due to driver error. That is a fact. Therefore the probability is very high that in this case it was due to driver error. And as stated if you do a runner, there is also a high probability that you have done something very wrong. And similarly highly likely if you get caught you will be banned. And in Lee Hughes case he got a six years prison sentence. I have given the stats on cyclists going to court. Prosecutions happen but on a far lower number than drivers. The likelihood of harm to the individual from poor cycling to humans and to property etc are much lower due to physics. That is why society focuses on bad driving. That does not excuse bad cycling. I've thought about 'accidents'. My only no blame collision is when a deer ran out in front of me whilst driving and a cat whilst cycling - I came off worse in the latter and was quite upset about the former. As it was a black cat I assume that I had upset a witch, I've also had a pigeon and a bat (really? I thought they had such good radar) hit me whilst cycling but that resulted in no harm. Perhaps a bit of satellite coming to ground or a meteorite would be classed as a no fault incident. Can't think of any no fault collisions other than these.

In 2023, 39 people were convicted for careless or inconsiderate cycling, six people were convicted for dangerous cycling, and three people were convicted for cycling under the influence of drink or drugs. Compare this to16,406 reported cycling accidents in the UK, 91 reported fatalities, 4,056 serious injuries, and 11,546 slight injuries. More anti-cycling rhetoric I'm afraid. Cyclists suffer far more harm from other road users than they cause.

Apparently the police took a call from a certain C Little. I understand that it was difficult to hear the exact name as there was a lot of clucking in the background. Various farm animals are helping with enquiries, worryingly a few foxes have been seen on the prowl so this may not end well. I say police protection for C Little, now. Why on earth is there so much interest, and negativity, after a 100 days of a Labour government when we had 1000s of days of dreadful government before this with hardly a chat on this Website? What is it that is suddenly so much greater interest? Here's part of a list of what they have done in a 100 days - it's from a Labour MP so obviously there is some bias, and mainly new Bills so yet to deliver/put into law. I'd seriously consider some training. That goes to many of us. There is no snow today, a couple of minutes of sleet virtually all cars have ASB and some sort of traction control. We have wet leaves every autumn. I grew up in snowier parts of the UK and it was great fun driving in fresh snow. Now I have little experience so simply avoid driving in ice and snow. Not much fun cycling either!
