  7. Yes you are right of course. If I had been on my own I would have been scared for sure.
  8. MW74- he could hardly stand up and there were three of us. We were more bemused than upset . If we had felt threatened then we would have called the police.
  9. I was walking down LL with 2 women friends at about 11pm one night when Mr Bolt neck loomed up out of nowhere asking for money. "Don't worry I won't rape you" he said . Reassured. That neck is very scarey though.

  16. au contraire *bob* - I wish it had been large print- I'm going for a nice lie down now my eyes are so tired....... I feel a bit like you do with adults watching Lord of the Rings and Star Wars and stuff but I've enjoyed the Harry Potter series-my 13 year old daughter is currently curled up in bed still in her pyjamas reading it- just makes a nice change from Hollyoaks, excessive mascara wearing and myspace. (not that that is any excuse for me but I won't upset you by reading it in public. How about Northern Lights? Would that upset you too ?)
  17. * Bob * I don't care. Just finished it. Fab way to spend a rainy Saturday. Loved it.
  18. Any other mad HP fans sitting at home waiting for a delivery?
  19. As a local teacher I will speak up for the Uplands purely on the grounds that we can leave school at 12.31 ,get to the Uplands, have lunch (quite nice compared to school dinners) and then be back at school at 1.29. And it's never too busy!
  20. Older kids cheering on younger kids.... Younger kids cheering on older kids...... Sporty kids cheering on non sporty kids....... Non sporty kids cheering on sporty kids...... Kids enjoying being out of doors at the end of term... Team spirit fostered because the winning team actually won (so it was competitive ....). (Most) parents enjoying the afternoon..... Most kids enjoying the afternoon..... Aaaah end of term... Rest of year take part in the Southwark competitions of football, cricket, rounders, volleyball, cross country running, netball ),tag rugby, swimming to name but a few. All very competitive. Or go private then you can compete 24/7 at everything.
  21. CWALD- I think you will find that when your daughter goes to school on Monday that the winning team will be announced. Then if your daughter was in the winning team- she would be a winner and then if she was not in that winning team she would not be the winner.
  22. Just got home and read all the stuff about breastfeeding. A nice cup of tea and some toast and marmite has soothed any inclination to join in or start a new thread entitled "Ladies- where's the wierdest place you've ever breastfed?"
  23. Rod Liddle outside Franklins. Drinking wine reading Alistair Campbell's new book. *perfect summer reading* *probably not*
  24. Southwark News.05/07/07. Page 3 "A man has been chardge in connection with an attempted child snatch in Dulwich. James Hayward, 19, from Underhill Road, is facing two charges of abduction,as well as one of possessing an offensive weapon."
