  1. Anyone know exactly when this work starts? There are advance notice signs stating Loughborough Road is closed to through traffic (implying now) but nothing happening yet - don't want to get caught out! H

Happy to find out what he did if anyone wants to know! :)
  3. Entirely sympathise with you on this Kai, I live in a victorian building on a hill and have had to accept that nothing lines up with anything else! Agree with the person who said the mortar will make a big difference, just make sure it isn't dark brown which is sometimes the default. My builder mixed white cement in which smoothed the whole thing out and looks great. Good luck!

  6. I am registered at DMC and fully registered with the Patient Access system and log in quite regularly out of curiosity but never, not once, has there been a general appointment available to book. On offer are Extended Hours/Admin/To be booked by duty Dr, with no explanation of what the latter two actually are. H
  7. A short walk along Overhill Passage and through Dawson Heights (the massive flats opposite) will bring you to the best view across the city too :)
  8. Thanks, Sue. Annoying cos I was quite pleased with my post! :))
  9. Apparently so and I have experienced it in the past when trying to sell a lawnmower (!) but no amount of editing has worked!
  10. Just spent a frustrating half hour trying to contribute to this thread, editing and editing so the EDF software would accept my post but giving up now. Particularly interested in responses to the post by LondonMix. Nothing controversial or weird - just keeps blocking my post. Anyone else have a problem with ipad and EDF? Annoyed!
  11. Another recommendation for Steve. Carpets look great and he even came back to do one again at no charge (elderly puss had a few accidents.....) Good communication and a professional job at a reasonable price. Helen
  12. oops - apologies! 13. Agree with this. From Overhill I have to walk round and enter at corner of Langton Rise/Wood Vale, so kind of 3 sides of a square to get to the bus stop on FHR - very much a first world problem obviously, but an entrance at this end would be quite useful! indiepanda Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Access onto Underhill Road would be an > improvement. 14. I'm signed up to Patient Access and even have the app but DMC rarely has anything useful to offer. Never seen an actual GP appt. For the past few days, admin appointments only (!) and now, nothing at all!

  16. People sitting near me at the cinema chomping on their nachos. And why do cinemas sell such noisy food anyway?
  17. I drove along the common/south circ about an hour ago and saw water in the road, couple of Thames Water vans nearby - yet another burst main perhaps. H
  18. I went into Balfe's recently for a new inner tube. Thoroughly nice guy showed me the best way to put it back inside the tyre which will save me time and money in future. Advice was free, inner tube a good price.

  20. I had to have the carpets refitted recently after a flood - after that, my broadband and landline were terrible. BT sent 2 engineers who discovered internal wiring carelessly damaged by the carpet fitter. They fixed it and didn't charge me (it should have been ?130 as the fault was in my flat) so credit where it's due. Different issue to the last few days though, when the BB connection seems to keep dropping. I'm at the top of Overhill.
