  1. In Hamburg tonight. Have a great evening CC! X
  2. Hi - hope someone was able to help. Might it be worth registering your cat at Neighbourhood Vets instead, as they are within walking distance?
  3. I was about to post yesterday to say yes but got home to find a burgled flat - bit of a mess to tackle this evening :( Have a great night x

  5. Saied came yesterday to give the garden a good post Autumn/storm tidy and has done a great job as ever. I have asked him to come back in the Spring to restore my sad looking lawn. Thanks Saied!

  8. Have a look in the bottom right corner where the clock is - along there you will see many of the programmes running in the background. Many of these are set by default to start with Windows, even if you don't want or need them to and they can slow things down considerably... another annoyance....try right clicking on them and select Quit or Exit - see if that helps.
  9. This thread is making me howl, please stop....I have work to do :))
  10. Haha, yes - many a pleasurable hour wasted putting my pc back together after some dangerous tinkering...those were the days...friends & family just couldn't understand how a girl could be so fascinated! 11. No need to be rude. We're all just trying to help.
  12. Isn't it a bit dangerous to end all processes via task manager? I once tried that and closed Explorer (Windows, not Internet) after which the PC didn't know how to run Windows any more..... Probably a daft question but wouldn't want to inadvertantly add to bigmacca1's problems!
  13. Good advice so far. Make sure your anti-virus is up to date. I would also advise doing an anti malware scan...malware is the stuff our computers can pick up without realising, while internet shopping etc, and will bombard you with the kind of messages you're seeing. Very often no more than an annoyance, but can be more sinister. I can't post a link cos EDF doesn't let me but do a google for malwarebytes, it's a free download. Once installed make sure you update to the latest version (it will be obvious how to do this) and let it do a full scan - could take a while. Delete everything it finds. Good luck! Helen :)

Had some cracking beers in the DH recently - a helpful girl behind the bar patiently explained about different beers after I got a bit confused at the choice! Sad to see you go, will you open up again nearby?
  15. Saied has been back to plant the last 2 of my fruit trees, all of which are looking happy and healthy in their new surroundings. He dealt with various unexpected obstacles with good grace and humour, such as layers of concrete slabs and old bricks under my innocent looking lawn and borders. He will be back for an Autumn tidy up and I'm very happy to trust him with my keys. He is a great asset to the area, in fact my only reservation about giving him such a glowing recommendation is that he'll get too busy to come back! Brought me some more apples from his garden too - delicious. Thanks :)
  16. Gosh. Sorry I spoke! How depressing :(
  17. What sillywoman said. Sigh.
  18. It would be so lovely if there was a main one somewhere though!
