  1. Great send-off. Had a really good time and even managed to get up at 7 this morning for Uni. Loved catching up with the old faces :-) Have fun in Ireland and if you meet any sexy Irish farmers around 35 years of age who are into fading, gobby older women, do a girl a favour and hook me up :-)
  2. That reminds me of when my dog was young, we took him to a Cornish beach and he decided to 'play' with a kid's bodyboard. Luckily the kid wasn't freaked out but obviously wasn't happy that my dog had taken a chunk out of his body board. I apologised profusely, bought the body board off the kid for double it's cost and still have it in my garage. Happily the dog has grown up now and hasn't done anything like that for years. Sometimes dogs (and kids) damage other people's stuff. I think the minimum I'd expect from anyone whose dog or kid damaged my property, would be an apology and payment for the damage and I'm not a manners maketh man type either.
  3. I wonder how many accents they have send whether they will rotate! I might get a Scouse accent next :-)
  4. Mine has recently developed a bit of a cockney accent! Do you get Scottish in Scotland, or Brummie in Birmingham? Anyone know? It used to be irritating American. Very strange when I heard the cockney for the first time!
  5. The more variety the better in my opinion. Different voices need to heard. Not the same, greedy, corrupt, wealthy ones we get now.
  6. They are not mutually exclusive.
  7. From the European Convention on Human Rights: Article 3 ? Prohibition of torture No one shall be subjected to torture or to inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment. Read the actual documents I posted above instead of swallowing tabloid hysteria and then tell me they are misconceived. I sepcialise in human rights law in an immigration context and see all kinds of bollox printed in the maintream media that is inaccurate and in some cases libelous about our clients, lawyers and Judges. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-25950599 Don't believe the hype.
  8. We are supposed to live in a representative democracy, but the people who govern in our name represent a tiny section of the population. I don?t see anyone in Parliament who represents me, or people like me. There are millions of people with no-one in Parliament representative of who they are. The result is that millions of Britons fail to engage in the political process and the percentage of the population who vote has become shamefully low. Why would you want to vote if the only candidates on offer are from a world alien to you, with no understanding of what living your life entails? This lack of true representation undermines democracy and allows politicians to ignore the needs of whole swathes of the population who don?t vote, which further disempowers and alienates people. If people like Amy are allowed to stand and not destroyed in the Media for being different, then maybe this will pave the way for others from different backgrounds to stand and we will move towards a more representative democracy. I won?t be holding my breath though. Those in power, do not give up power without a fight and the current lot have many resources at their disposal to prevent the kind of change we need.

I got your point Foxy. Prisoner's are are given more priority than children. They have a human right to exercise, but children don't. It was a point based on misconceived ideas about what human rights are and playing to ill-informed stereotypes of what the European Convention on Human Rights and the Human Rights Act mean. As it happens, I think schools should have lots of space for children to run around and I don't beleive this site will provide that. But the priority in our privatised education system, is not the well-being of the chidlren, but the profit of the organisations who now sell education to local and national governments.
  11. Snide remarks about prisoners' human rights, adding to already widely perceived misinformed stereotypes, is not my idea of a joke. Being a justice and equality bore, I took it upon myself to counter your ignorant prejudice in a vain attempt to educate you and others of your ilk, as to the facts relating to Human Rights.
  12. Foxy, there is no human right to exercise. http://echr-online.com/ Maybe you could try reading a bit about the European Convention on Human Rights, as you are clearly interested in these things. The thing about the state incarcerating prisoners (or anyone else for that matter), and not letting them out to exercise (walk around a bare yard) is that it is likely to be inhuman treatment. Banging a dog up in a room 24/7 is also frowned upon.
  13. South is better for - Green space, gardens, house prices and lower crime. North is better for - Transport links, young people & diversity. Well I never! http://now-here-this.timeout.com/2014/01/08/infographic-north-vs-south-london-in-numbers/
  14. Why should politicians all be grey upper class twats? I'd rsther have someone a bit different.

  16. She seems like the most interesting politician I've seen in a while. I'm in the Green Party, but she might just tempt me.
  17. I think her character was more believable in the second series. She was too overdone in the first one, but seems more settled now. Maybe someone did a bit of research on asbergers/autism this time round!
  18. I shout 'beep, beep' very loudly to the zombies who lurch into my path, because they seem to be immune to my cycle bell.

Hope the kid is ok and the idiot who did it feels remorse eventually. I'm a fan of The Bridge and loved the way Martin broke through Jens' protective wall to make sure he was tormented by what he'd done and finally felt remorse. Harder to do a sentence with your guilt invading your nightmares than with a wall protecting you from your remorse.
  20. Lol. Could have done without watching the girl kiss the wrinkly Dundee before breakfast though.
  21. Some people just need something to complain about. If your life is so miserable you feel the need to moan about petty things, I suggest you take up a hobby or make an effort to get more sex, even with yourself. Always seems to transform the miserable barstewards I know. If no-one wants sex with you, there are lots of independent escorts and masseurs who cater for males & females of every predilection advertising on the internet and countless swinging clubs.

  23. Male or female? My 15 year old daughter wants someone to play tennis with. She is ok but not particularly fit, despite my best efforts! I'm don't like tennis so it would be good to pair her up with someone else.
