I think you have that the wrong way 'round Huge given that lazy bums who have lost interest in their appearance are rarely clean-shaven - but then I always had you down as a Jacob amongst Esaus.

I just hope while he's on loan he proves everyone wrong and manages to change his name from "Oh-no-he's-bringing-on-bloody-Chamakh!" to something a little more positive. Personally I have more hope for the young Waterford striker, Sean Maguire (no, not the Eastenders actor) working his way into the first team.

    Ebay snipers

What H said - also sellers can short circuit sniping by adding a 'buy it now' option at what they think is the top 'achievable' price for the item and if any bidders are desperate for it they'll click on that.
  7. Good to see Boateng refusing to put up with more racist crap - only a friendly but I hope it sets an example- http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2013/01/03/ac-milan-walk-off_n_2402378.html?utm_hp_ref=uk-sport

Oh great - now you've really gone and nixed it - unless that was your intention in which case as you were B).
  9. Not many home bankers there RD - or ARE there? Brighton 1 V Newcastle 1 Bolton 1 V Sunderland 2 Crawley 0 V Reading 2 Crystal Palace 0 V Stoke 1 Luton 1 V Wolves 2 Macclesfield 0 V Cardiff 3 Peterborough 0 V Norwich 2 Swansea 2 V Arsenal 2 Mansfield 1 V Liverpool 4 Cheltenham 0 V Everton 3 @AM - the one with the lower participation %age has benefitted from more 'maxxi's which, as form has shown, are on the generous side at 5pts ea. so I think RD's right.

  12. Of course if you want to look a little meaner/tougher or if plaid just aint your thang you could go this way - an Amish/Clockwork Orange kind of deal... http://msnbcmedia.msn.com/j/MSNBC/Components/Photo/_new/120828-amish-beard-cutting-910a.photoblog600.jpg
  13. ah, you mean hipster/woodsman porn... the sort they graduated to when Hugh FW stopped eating roadkill.
  14. Great news as long as he passes the medical - back where he belongs... a midfield of Cole, Noble, Nolan and Collison could really click - just need a striker now. Great result for Harry's boys tonight too, should make sure the Ba deal goes through.

  16. Did you play the fondue game doc? Y'know, lose your bread/potato/crudit? into the fondue whilst dipping and you have to down a schnapps?

I'm down to the bare bones this week so, you know, the team picks itself..." (and sauce natch) Happy New Year all B)

  21. Back in Nov I suggested a straight-forward predicting all games rather than head to head (from 3rd round onwards) with the bottom two knocked out each round leaving 3 to contest the semis (based on 11 starters) and, with one eliminated then, two in the final. Any ties could be decided by (for example) who came nearest to total goals scored that day or who had most correct predictions over correct sores (or vice versa as long as we knew from the off) or - if still a tie - who had nearest to the correct goal difference between winners and losers on the day. Draws could still score as in the league and if draws featured in a tie and everything else was equal then the replay could decide which player is knocked out. However having thought it through - the predictor league would have none or few prem games on FA cup days and predicting the latter is as difficult as an ordinary weekend (always was on the pools coupon) so maybe leave it as part of the edf league...

  25. Apologies for the foggy metaphor Shaman but I was referring to the fondness some long-term forumites have, when they feel unsettled by parvenu posters, for relating how wonderful the forum used to be 'back then' and how sadly it has been traduced by uppity newcomers; and not to the once fecund woodland that would have covered the locale.
