  2. Final warning doc and that's shallot.
  3. Now you know very well he meant co-op doc. Stop bullying the poor boy and give him his edamame bean shake back.
  4. I think when the play-off system was introduced there was unfairness but now all teams know how it works and what to expect and it keeps more teams involved until later in the season than otherwise. We now talk all season about being 'in the play-off places' so supporters can retain some hope of promotion by scraping in to 6th even if the top two are 20 points clear, it means there are two goals at the start of the season the first being automatic promotion and the second is acheiving a play-off spot. As a West Ham supporter I have seen us lose a play-off final in 2004 and win one the following year. The unfairness with the Europa fiasco is that you never know which clubs are going to be parachuted into it from The CL (just as a club has had some great results and starts to believe it may win it they suddenly have to face Man U or Porto which means all their earlier games count for nothing). The CL is itself unfair and wrongly named as only a few of the participants are Champions at the time the competition starts.
  5. A year's supply of Marmite to give her a taste of how the other half lives.

No one ever actually reads the Big Issue HAL, that's the point. They have in fact had the same articles in there for the last 7 years and only change the cover once a month to make us think we're buying the thing for entertainment rather than charity.
  8. Any tree seller who knows their onions will de-net the tree and give it a hefty thump-thump-thump on the pavement to demonstrate to you that it is not dropping. If they don't - walk away.
  9. I am NEVER vulgar, smutty yes but then I do love a nice chandelier...http://www.doobybrain.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/penis-chandelier.jpg
  10. Cameron a toff? Dunno, but that bloody Queen is. What a snob! She calls her house an actual bleedin' palace would you believe! Head of the church? Well I never voted for her... or the Pope... fucking scandalous.
  11. Roast potatoes in goose fat, make soup with chicken stock, bard the nut roast with bacon... and lie.
  12. Also miss the Cup Winners Cup (Hammers won it 2 years after Spurs) - things were simpler then. To be in the CWC you had to win a domestic cup and to get in the European (Champions) Cup you had to win your league (neither Man U or Liverpool had qualified as champions in 1999 and 2005). I think not having a straight-forward knockout cup (like the FA Cup) at Euro-level is a mistake.
  13. I see a yacht in your future so it might be an idea to get Marmora Man to instruct you in the proper way to remove barnacles from your bottom.
  14. Try 'Imporient' East African tea (Rwanda) from Franklins. They had a stall at the Lambeth Country Show a couple of years ago which is how I came to try it - not cheap at ?3.50 for 80 bags or ?12/kg loose but you won't be disappointed.
  15. I see your :X and I raise you (6) with a side order of :(

  17. ...and talking of chafing the cherubs holding her trapeze bar look like they are in for a tough night.
  18. Don't be vulgar Nette dear. They didn't have camels then. That is padding to act against 'branch-chafing' when tackling an open-armed candelabra of the type favoured by the better class of Music Hall. If you look closely you will see the talented Dulmum is preparing to ascend to the Palladium No. 3 Chandelier whilst dancing the higland fling (she will do anything for an extra thruppence three-farthing).

When the rice is cooked and all the water gone you will see holes - like little wells - have appeared in the rice. Dot these holes with butter and wrap a clean tea-towel around the pan lid and replace on a v. low heat for a minute. When you take it off you should be able to turn the rice out onto a plate like a cake. The rice will be cooked and not soggy and you'll have a golden brown crispy crust - adds a nuttiness and satisfying crunch to white rice. http://pinchmysaffron.com/storage/DSC03405.JPG?__SQUARESPACE_CACHEVERSION=1255072917011
  20. So how do gooners feel about their new statues? When compared to the photos they were modelled on Henry - instead of an expression of aggressive determination - looks like he's sat on a milk bottle http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2011/12/09/article-2072146-0F1EB61C00000578-865_468x537.jpg and Tony Adams' expression of joy/relief has been transformed into the smirk of an amateur magician who has successfully vanished a rabbit. http://i.thisislondon.co.uk/i/pix/2011/12/other-statue-415.jpg

This is not to mention unrefined 'molasses' cane sugar (dark and light), left-over preserving sugar and those dinky little cubes (brown and white) from La Perruche for when guests come to tea/for coffee.
  22. You can cook red rice like risotto rice (i.e. frying it with olive oil/butter onions etc. then adding stock) but you don't need to stir it to release the starch. You can add more stock/water near the end if the rice is still too hard or drain some off if it is cooked before the stock has all soaked in/evaporated, the rice is robust enough to sustain this treatment without collapsing into mush or sticking like white rice. Stock, water, anything you like but add no salt until the end.
  23. When one chooses 'un nom de forum' after a disappointing night 'dans le sac' then one's views are apt to be a trifle beligerent and unfocussed. Personally I shall be swanning through the mkt tomorrow, hot cider in hand, marvelling at bike man's multi-tool and hoping the last Lamington hasn't gone.
  24. You don't need to be a gooon to delight on the collective Mancunian red face (and no I don't just mean AF). For the Rooney/Suarez argument - let's not forget Terry. The CPS have the details now so why hasn't the sod been officially charged?
  25. the-e-dealer Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Arborio Rice is best for risottos Oooooooh have to disagree, KTdigits is right - Carnaroli is by far the best (Vialone Nano goes mushy too 'suddenly') and it is available from the ED Supermkt (opposite ED Deli), Arborio is a little too sticky and starchy. Red Rice (or Camargue Rice named for the region of France where it is cultivated) is wonderful stuff (available in SMBS) - it needs rinsing first then soaking for 20 mins and cooking for 40-45. Nutty without the dusty flavour of some brown rice. Wild rice (whilst not - strictly speaking - a rice at all) can be treated in the same way.
