What club would want him now he's shown how he behaves when he doesn't get his way - "with Berahino not in a state of mind to play and not one of the more popular figures among team-mates" cue cries of "But he's young and misunderstood and passionate and he only wants to play and he loves the fans and..." - whiney little f&cker.

Dodged a bullet with Adebayor too.

That's the dog's bollocks. Been waiting since I as a kid for a win at Anfield - remember a great 1-1 there in mid 70s when Keith Robson scored and Smith equalised and Mervyn Day played a blinder for us to get the draw. Doesn't matter (to me anyway) that this isn't the Pool of old - we buried 'em. Home form is down to nerves and the headless chicken panic when they feel the crowd on their backs. But with Nolan finally out of the way I think things will gel.

Alex - seriously - of course you won't die but if your pan wasn't lined you will get a huuuge guts-ache (and follow-through if you know what I mean) that no amount of bravado can compensate for. Bin it. Really. LM - I made plum jam last year - cracked a few of the stones and included those inner kernels in the mix to improve the flavour - worked (i think). -
I think she had something a little more swanlike* in. mind *No, it's not a brummie ballet.

Did you sleep with BFS's missus or something? Okay i'll bite - a glorious f*ck up - terrible first half - Jenkinson and Creswell had a mare but didn't get much in the way of protection from midfield, play was too narrow and yes the system is taking time to gel but so what? I think it will - things will adapt and it's better to have these problems now than in a few months time. We need a striker and to learn to go wide when it's needed and for players to get over the nerves of playing at UP and stop the headless chicken routine when they f%ck up. It'll come. I am equal parts excited, disappointed, annoyed, frustrated, BUT I am not bored. I not looking ahead to a season of safety-first, percentage-based, dullness. I think I once said I'd rather lose 4-3 in an exciting/dramatic game than win 1-0 in a bore fest. So now is the test. And i still feel that way. COYI.

More often went to gigs than clubs but a few I went to more than once - The Wag (all waxed DMs and black 501s), Paramount and Slimelight (thanks to an ex who was a semi-Goth so as you'd expect). Fave - Flim Flan & Million Rubber Bands at The Harp, New X.

Hm, yes I thought that about the Sakho thing too. May not be fan pressure as much as Goldivan's perception of it and knee-jerk reaction to same. After the flak from BFS they are bending over backwards to 'please' the vocal fans as they believe it will help fill their pockets the Olympic Stadium. Was Bilic persuaded to let it go or bribed with promise of better option? Barton response (well he's always got something to say) was mature and reasonable - well it would be while he's in the shop window I hear (some of) you say... http://metro.co.uk/2015/08/12/joey-barton-records-message-to-west-ham-fans-after-transfer-deal-falls-through-5338854/

Know what you mean RC but I'd rather him than Nolan - the youngsters could learn a thing or two from him now he's not such a loony. Thought I'd mentioned him before - searched his name and found this post from 2011- maxxi 03 June, 2011 14:20 "...Perhaps he could persuade Joey Barton (no, wait, just think about it for a minute) to come and add the 'spirit'? When Parker goes we'll need a strong captain and Barton is mature enough for that now. They should go after him - he's not getting in the England team anyway (history) so what does he have to lose? Who else is after him?" I know that was four years ago but he may still have something to offer.
