Maybe we could introduce the banter and rivalry that characterises a lot of the Football thread into the other "game" threads. "Call that a 5 letter word you illiterate Bedwetter!?... Oh, now you're just making up band names just to make the rest of us Google a collection of tone deaf Belgians...No-o-o you idiot! It aint just word association, it's a coded message to the disenfranchised of Fellbrigg Road and spelling 'Kumkwat' like that has completely bollixed it!" Also "You knob" (applicable to any game plus curry club and the odd chapel of rest post).

Quite AqM - just annoyed I predicted a West Ham win but at 2-1, thought they might manage a goal! How silly! There's a new Ox in town. Oh... and this... http://ichef.bbci.co.uk/live-experience/cps/512/amz/vivo/live/images/2015/8/9/30391382-28bf-4b54-a891-22e9a5679a6e.png HAAAA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HAAAAA.....!

Jimenez now not coming (because of the Europa Cup exit) and Bilic looking at Borini? This is the crazy bit of the window - season starts and transfers still in the air for another 3 weeks. Looking forward to the season whatever happens - can't help wishing (I know, I know) the opening day would see ALL teams play on Saturday at 3.

Tonight's defeat was disappointing if inevitable given the opening leg. On reflection Bilić might have done better to have this 2nd string side play the first leg as well - some of the younger fringe players have looked promising throughout this truncated foray (if we can hang on to them). Still, a nice big fat win up the Haemmorhates will have to do.

Broad was due. Anderson dominated one test, Finn another. Stokes's catch though, and Broad's reaction to it, fantasy cricket.

If a business having two or more shops can be called a chain (can it?) then aren't Burro e Salvia (2 shops), Boulangerie Jade (4 shops) and Oddono's (6 shops) chains? And did they replace chains or...? Not trying to stir things... honest.

no - just posted last year's FPL code but now i see you tried that already - carry on... oh, and just rejoined both - don't know if i'll keep them up but start-of-season optimism is infectious.

Vesta was the inspiration for my first taste too - though having seen the tv adverts and then the prices my mother decided she could do it "at half the price." Ended up with something made using mince, onions, half a tub of Lions curry powder and a good wallop of sultanas. She garnished with (well put a Pyrex bowl on the table containing...) the traditional curry accompaniment of sliced banana and dessicated coconut. Feckin' marvellous.

I tried to live by bread alone for a while - couldn't do it. Now I mainly loaf about... (insert childish baps joke here).

Craig (butcher opposite Plough) has two types of honey at ?5 for a large jar. The darker one, he tells me, is taken from the hives when they are mainly collecting pollen from tree blossom and other woodland delights, the lighter one is more of a meadow thang. The lighter one is cloudy-ish because some pollen is added - both are delicious.

I visited Neal's Yard Cheese shop at Borough Market the other day - they have bread (from "Brick House Bakery, East Dulwich") on sale at ?5.90* per loaf. (FFS, WTF, OMG etc etc...) Problem is, the Peckham Cart guys are not there Mon/Tues. *As it was 5.30 they were selling it for half price so I had a perfectly acceptible loaf for ?2.95

Good? Prices? ?2.50 per loaf for lots of varieties - sourdough, rye mix, potato and rosemary, granary, wholemeal, etc. - and the baker (the French guy on the stall is one of the bakers - Manuel) will explain what's in any/every loaf, how it's made, the starter, etc. http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?20,1497777,1536046#msg-1536046 check out the bread here- http://www.flourpowercity.co.uk/whatwemake/

The lack of snow. What's the point of having the stuff when it's too cold out to enjoy it?

That on buses (esp. new routemasters) the poles (small 'p'), rails (the plural noun not the verb) and hand-holds (nothing to do with the climbing wall at Urban Ascent) are permanently greeeeeazy.
