  1. why would new legislation be necessary when existing laws were more than adequate to prosecute those who broke EXISTING laws with regard to hacking etc? Weren't people found out? prosecuted etc? and a newspaper even shut down? ALL under existing legislation? When the press do wrong we already have laws that protect us all. WHEN they do wrong. Not when some lying two-faced politician* DECIDES they have done wrong. Seems the coalition have the 'New Labour' bug; legislate first - think about it later. *i.o.w. all politicians.
  2. You can't really think that's compo enough if he DOES turn out to be the real thing... as far as I'm concerned they can have double that with knobs on as long as he stays on course (and stays at UP).

I've said it before, there IS an antidote (provided you can't speak French - otherwise it sort of defeats the purpose): http://www.frenchradiolondon.com/sites/all/themes/myzen/logo.png http://www.frenchradiolondon.com/radioplayer/

Good 1st half but Poland are awful - tailor made for England with their defensive approach. Still good to see the scrapping for the ball and the attacking etc. (motivated in part, imo, by not wanting to be shown-up too much by the new boy). Worse thing that could happen is dropping off and allowing the Poles to all-out-attack now (stating the obvious I know but this IS England we're talking about) which they are certain to do (Poland not England... well..).
  12. On the Radio5 commentary of the England game one of the commentators referred to the opposition as "the Montenegroes"

  14. I know it's a fairly common occurrence - but I hadn't spent a night just enjoying what ED has to offer rather than fleeing and returning for 'a late one' in a while - dinner at Il Mirto finishing with a cracking frozen grappa, a couple of pints at the Draft House (a fine Crystal Palace bitter at ?2.75 a pint) and a straightening Old Fashioned at H.O.T. and things in the hood don't seem too bad - then again I could be just a little bit pissed.

V good debut - the kind one looks for from y. players - time to get rid of the last of the old (Lampard, and er... Lampard... tbh not really impressed with Carrick either) and the 'tried but failed' (Walker) Expect Engand to qualify (as they did for S Arica) then fail miserably (as they did...etc) as the usual timidity, lack of confidence, and conservatively unadventurous approach to the beautiful game returns.
