  2. It's a disgrace how much rubbish is left behind. Why can't there just be a rule that teams who book the pitches take their rubbish home. If they don't they can't book a pitch again.
  3. Agreed. They do a lovely range of gluten free crisps.
  4. He's sleeping by the Dunstans Rd / Forest Hill Rd gate of Peckham Rye Park. He seems to have a regular supply of canned Jack Daniels. He really looks in a bad way. I'm not sure what his options are in these days of austerity? Homeless levels seem to be getting back to the level they were in Thatcher's time.

  7. Amazon will deliver direct to Forest Hill Road or Lordship lane PO. Lots of other retailers will deliver to local shops. Probably the way to go.
  8. Sometimes I'll even walk over to The Old Nun's Head. Madness to go so far but many good pubs on the periphery.. We are indeed blessed.
  9. Well you can't turn back time. Don't moan about the GE then if you've got at least three pubs you like. I love pubs but I don't love them all. I probably like the same kind of old school pubs you do. EDT, Gowlett, Ivy House etc. But I will defend to my dying breath people's right to drink in a noisier boozer. I love seeing a vibrant busy pub. Exactly the same with the Watson's (nee Rose, FHT). That had had been slowly dying for years and many on here said there was no market for a pub there barring a few Millwall fans. Now it's constantly packed and a marvellous addition to my end of ED.
  10. They're shocking. If only someone could have built something interesting there.

A proper locals pub that hardly anyone used. I went in there many nights when there were just a couple of sweary builders at the bar. Otherwise it was mostly dead. I'm glad it's busy now and not some crap flats which would have been the other option. I sympathise about the noise though. I mostly find it too loud to sit in.
  12. When my son was little he'd ride on the pavement down to the park while I rode on the road. When we encountered a pedestrian we stopped and passed safely. Now he's confident he rides on the road in front of me. If we're all considerate to each other it's amazing how we can all muddle along.
  13. Might pop down today for a pint. To be fair, speaking as a father there are plenty of child friendly spaces. Pubs and kids don't always mix. The Herne used to be like the Lord of the Flies. There's still Pizza Express and that other place there so I think just a pub is fine.
  14. I tried 400 Rabbits yesterday. Still getting over the disappointment. All very average I thought, I'd give it a solid 5/10. I still love Franco Manca for the quality, good price, atmosphere and lovely staff.
  15. Russell has done a few jobs for us. He's brilliant and really takes pride in what he does.
  16. I second that. Sounds particularly brutal. The person is obviously a dangerous individual.
  17. It's a real shame. I would say now more than ever with so much stuff being bought online that a local sorting office is an essential service. It makes me very sad.
  18. They're so ugly not sure who'd buy them. I wish they'd get them finished though.
  19. Anyone know who's responsible for the development of the three tiny houses at the bottom of Dunstans (Almost next to Potager)? It looks like they've given up half way. The site is in a right mess. I never see anyone working there.
  20. At least no violence was involved.
  21. Glad to be of assistance.
  22. Unbelievably I know her. PM'd you.
  23. I popped my nose in on Saturday afternoon. Most of the clientele were primary school kids who'd taken their parents out for the afternoon so I did a runner. It looks pretty good though. I'll give it another go one evening.
