  1. If you got the plate definitely report to the police. Horrible.
  2. Is this thread a wind up?
  3. Looked fun. Shame it was on mostly when we were at work/school.
  4. It used to be our chippy of choice.
  5. Not picking up the plastic sounds particularly crap. I hope some of the takings get ploughed back into the park's coffers.
  6. dresswaves Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Does anyone know why they are using the Park & not > the Rye? That would make more sense. Guessing the extra fencing?
  7. Saw it being set up today. Ghastly.
  8. I thought it was going to be an East European deli.
  9. It would be good if it could be turned into a small hotel with a pub / restaurant. Like the Half Moon or Dog. I remember lots of people saying the old Forest Hill Tavern would never work as it was in a supposed 'dead zone'. Seems like it's pretty busy most of the time now. If you can make somewhere a good destination the people will come.
  10. Blakeney in Norfolk is brilliant. Loads of crabbing around the harbour, nice beaches and fish and chips. We had a lovely holiday there a couple of years ago. I can also second the Isle of Wight.
  11. No children should have access to social media below 13 and for WhatsApp is'a 16. Slightly flabbergasted how little parents know or care about these rules. https://www.esafety.gov.au/education-resources/iparent/staying-safe/social-networking/is-there-an-age-limit-for-kids-on-social-media
  12. What would you say is a 'good' independent and what is a 'top' independent? There are schools which are suitable for some children and very wrong for others. If a child isn't bright enough to go to a highly academic school no amount of extra tutoring will help. It may get them in but unleash a world of pain once they're in and can't cope.
  13. We had him too. Seemed very convincing. I might email them.
  14. It was. I remember it opening. Mr Liu was Chez Nico in those times. ------------------------------------------------------- > 1970 I think. > > Entirely plausible. 15. 1970 I think. ------------------------------------------------------- > It's certainly one of the oldest - at least 20 > years? > > It was well established (well it seemed so) in > 1988 - so 30 years ago. Probably rather longer. In > all that time I've never visited it! (but have > visited most of the other sub-continent > restaurants in LL). Its then proximity to a foot > clinic was oddly off-putting.
  16. Just to pull them apart a bit more.. They didn't have many tables. Moxon's have probably struck lucky as B&S did quite a nice job of fitting it out.
  17. It's pretty easy and fun to make. I'm looking forward to the fish restaurant.
  18. Shame. I think I remember it opening. My friend Michael Boult lived in the sweetshop next door but one. I went there for the first (and last time) about a month ago.
  19. Handy for Moxon's
  20. Yes I agree. It's not so hard to put them back in your garden once the bin people have emptied them.
  21. I think I was targeted. I've sent pictures of the bike to the lcc and the police handling the case. I'm not expecting to see the bike again. But I'd love it if they were caught.
