  1. Did you go, Applespider? Regrettably, I didn't.
  2. Hello WOD. I am not an expert though I have been looking after a Victoria plum tree for about 15 years. I prune immediately following harvesting. The experts say you should also "arbrex" where pruned; I did this for the first 3 or four years but stopped doing so once I ran out of the stuff (couldn't be bothered). No problems so far (apart from plum tree moth and fecking squirrels).
  3. I had a sex change.

  5. I'm so pleased I visited the EDF today. This thread has made me laugh out aloud. Thanks! :))
  6. Interesting that it was the school run which got you cycling to work, Applespider. My most serious bike injury was caused by a school run mum who suddenly veered/turned left without warning. She said she hadn't seen me as her children had obscured her view. Yes, very sad to read about another cyclist death on the road, Malumbu. This one comes after another one just a few weeks previously (in Lewisham, I think). Did you ever receive a response from the BBC? If any of you would like to see adequate measures put into place so as to make our streets more cycle-friendly and for the current road laws to be more strictly enforced, then you may wish to sign this epetition: http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/49196 .
  7. Gosh, this is tragic. My thoughts go to the lady in question, her family and friends, the train driver and those who witnessed such a shocking thing.

Delighted to discover that, far from having snuffed it, you continue to provide hilarity with your brand of EDF shenanigans. Long may this continue. ;-) *waves to Netters and Lady Kat*
  9. So lovely to "see" you back. I hope you are very, very well. I rarely log onto here anymore, but WHAT a lovely surprise to see you on here just now! x

Most of the time it's 50p a (black bin) bag. A bargain! Very occasionally, when they haven't managed to shift the stuff, they do give it away for free. Best to pop in when passing to ascertain the position. Note, although it's decent material, it's still fairly fresh/raw and I would recommend allowing it to rot for at least a year before using. Enjoy, DC. Enjoy. And don't forget to take a long, deep sniff...
  11. Thank you SO much for coming back, ianr. Hubby cleared down browser cache/history and then got me to retry. He then got me to log on via another computer: same problem. He then got me to go back into FB by typing "Facebook.com" and decided to risk pressing the CONTINUE button following FB's message. This screen asked me to run antivirus scanning software if using windows or apple and to confirm this had been done. I didn't run the AV software as the problem was the same on both computers neither of which run windows or apple operating systems (I use Linux). Hey presto, I am now back in. However, once again - thank you.
  12. Was uploading some party photos onto FB and all of a sudden the following message came up: For security reasons your account is temporarily locked Unfortunately, your computer may be infected with a virus. Don't worry. We'll help you find and remove any infected files right away. Has anyone on here had this issue? Line 3 sounds a bit suspicious to me as I've never experienced FB to be this co-operative.
  13. 7 :) :)

Of all the games to have attended! Feel so privileged. As for the fine cuisine...not this time RD...brimming with emotion, relieved at having survived several heart attacks AND it was absolutely pissing down...but I aim to return...SOON...thanks for the tip. ;-)

  18. Yes Mr. H, leave darling brum alone, and the beautiful legal too, and the very sweet shaman, and the lovely Mr. Medic... or else I shall be over in quicker time than the melting of a snowball in the desert to lob you with out of date pork pies! Merry Christmas!
  19. Someone's on the ball today... :))
  20. Pah! And a very Merry Christmas to you too!
  21. 1 3 ;-) :) :))

With twirly tinsel up the lampposts and all. I'm surprised, Scotslass. I can't for the life of me remember seeing them before...hopefully I shall forget again this year and will receive another pleasant surprise next year haha.
  25. I'm sure they weren't there last year - were they? Anyway, very cheery. I wonder who is paying for them...ah well, I like them!
