activity in the green and blue premises

I'd love it if it was Ottolenghi, they do the most divine salads and cakes. :) EDmummy Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > PSJ Wrote: > -------------------------------------------------- > ----- > > Could it be a new branch of Ottolenghi? > > All my dreams coming true! Hi Laura - James's number is: 07776 141 629.

I'm really disappointed with Le Chandelier, after going there for many many years for brunch and tea and cake we went to go in with our pram and were immediately told that they were fully booked and couldn't accomodate us. As we left, other people arrived and were seated immediately. Why is it for years they are happy to accept our money and as soon as we try and go in with (a sleeping) baby in a pram we are refused? Out of principle we won't be going there again, but wish we hadn't spent so much in there over the years. On a more positive note, we ended up in the Blue Brick Cafe, great coffee and amazing carrot cake and most welcoming to families even though it was packed and not the largest cafe in East Dulwich.

Can anyone recommend a Taster Menu restaurant in town?
pearcesa replied to Indiana's topic in Request a Tradesperson
Another vote for Pollen Street Social. If you want closer to home, there is always Chez Bruce in Wandsworth -
I'd recommend James Mulvey, he has lots of recommendations on here. We've used him a few times, he's very creative and an excellent carpenter. If you search for James Mulvey his details will come up. :)

Which is the best place to go in the Greek Islands
pearcesa replied to Sol's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Thassos is gorgeous, probably the best island I've been too, quiet, unspoilt, beautiful scenery and lovely sandy beaches. -
Very well deserved. Colin was brilliant when we used him. Here's to winning again next year! ;)

Does anyone have any feedback/insights into Little Fingerprints Nursery (formerly Bojangles) in Forest Hill or Piplings (the one near the Horniman). Please PM me. Thanks.

Good plant nursery in SE London/Kent?
pearcesa replied to zelda100's topic in Request a Tradesperson
Another recommendation for Shannon's in Forest Hill, excellent plants & great staff. -
James Mulvey is your man! He's got numerous recommendations on here from lots of satisfied customers including myself. His work is of very high standard & he is an excellent carpenter.

I would like to recommend James Mulvey. He has a number of recommendations on here, he create four wardrobes for us in the alcoves in our two bedrooms. He also made a bespoke cabinet/cupboard for our lounge together with a desk for the two alcoves. He has his own workshop, his designs are very contemporary, he is a clean & reliable workman. He can be contacted on: 07776 141 629 & he has a website: jamesmulvey.com

Can anyone make a bookcase to fit an odd space?

Another recommendation for James Mulvey. His work is of a very high standard. He made 4 wardrobes for our 2 bedrooms, a cupboard for our lounge & a desk for a space in our dining area, all which we were very pleased with! -
Autumn babies club (due Sept/Oct/Nov 2012)
pearcesa replied to Family Room Moderator's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hello All Sorry I've missed the last few meet up's and for the radio silence. Unfortunately, things didn't quite go to plan with the arrival of our little one! We found at 39 weeks & 5 days that she was extended breech and was booked in for a planned c-section on Monday (8th). Unfortunately due to theatre being too busy with emergency sections, we were 'bumped' until Wednesday (10th) when our daughter, Molly Rose was born. We then had to spend five days in hospital as she developed jaundice and needed photo-therapy and had a mild infection and needed IV anti-biotics. We're home now and enjoying life as a little family. We hope to make one of the meet up's on a Monday or a Friday in due course. Congratulations to those that have recently had their babies and good luck to those that are still to 'pop'. Sarah x -

Hello - Are you ladies still planning to meet up on Monday at 10.30am at The Gardens? If so, I'll waddle along & join you for tea & cake, sadly I missed the meet up on the 30th but made the previous one at The Rye. Hope to see a few of you on Monday! -

Thanks for arranging Helen! :) Sunday 12th is good for me & The Rye or The Clock House would work for me. Let's hope we have this kind of weather in a few weeks. See you then! :) Sarah x -

I'm sorry to have missed you all today, would love to come along next time! Sunday 12th sounds good! Hope you all had a great afternoon! See you all next month. Sarah :) -
Thanks for these tips SuzanneFreeman. Although the nursery we went to covered everything comprehensively during our visit, this list was so good to refer too. :)

Hello! If you can afford it Lottie87 definitely get a removals firm in to pack you up - we used Harradines twice in the last year and they were fantastic! I thought I would join this thread and say we're expecting our first on the 7th October - we're very excited after having our 20 week scan today and all was fine, was slightly concerned the little one wasnt growing in there as everyone kept commenting how small my bump was - happy days - congratulations to you all! :) -
another recommendation for electrician Gary Vu
pearcesa replied to sineadcaitlin's topic in Request a Tradesperson
Another recommendation from me for Gary Vu! After seeing all the great reviews on here, we got him over between Xmas & NY to quote for the installation of a security light in our back garden & putting the correct electrical socket in our kitchen for a new cooker we planned to order. Gary's quote was more than reasonable & he had a great attitude & worked with us to ensure he was here when the new cooker was delivered, which was a Saturday & he did not charge any extra! I would definitely use Gary again & would highly recommend him! (tu) -
Chez Bruce for me has to be one of the best restaurants in London. We've been a number of times & have never been disappointed! I'm sorry to say I was disappointed with Heston's dinner, in my opinion I think it's over hyped. We were served flat champagne on arrival & the food was average, in fact the dessert was so bitter my friend & I could not eat it. My top 4 in London (in no order) are Chez Bruce, Pollen Street Social, Gordon Ramsay Royal Hospital Road (all his other restaurants don't compare to this one) & River Cafe!

???? Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > ...or wait another year, get a better ratio and > save yourself upto 2 years rent off the asking > price...maybe So, are people generally in agreement then that the housing market will remain stagnant for the next 12-18 months & that prices will actually fall? I've seen differing opinions in the press .... I'd be interested in people's thoughts about how prices in ED/Peckham/Nunhead/HOP might go....

Another (tu) for Bumni at the East Dulwich Dental Care practice on Forest Hill Road, she's excellent.
