  1. Indeed. We just wanted a great party and I think we achieved it. Probably cost around ?5k for absolutely everything. I have foubd that the flashiest weddings tend to be the more dull ones to be honest.
  2. According to the woman doing "thought for the day" on Radio 4 this morning, the average price of a wedding these days is ?20k+. Why in the name of all that is good and holy would anyone spend that much?
  3. What Jah said. Torres hasn't actually had a bad season either.
  4. He fucking went and did it again though. What a cunting wankstain!
  5. I missed the first half, which apparently Benfica bossed without even having to try particularly hard. I watched the second half though, and enjoyed it for the drama. Based on the second half Chelsea deserved that.
  6. I heard that on the commentary too ;-)
  7. With Brave John Terry ruled out of the final, I actually feel more like wishing Rafa's Chelsea good luck.
  8. Looks like I'll have to settle for Europa. Can't see me overhauling DaveR's 5 point lead and nicking that last champs league spot.
  9. Cool, lets hope for that then!

And this!
  12. Agree pay should reflect relative achievement, bit your model woukd lead to even nore sackings.
  13. Oh, and if anything makes me like Mancini, it's that he was sitting in the stand before Hughes got his P45. I don't even know why I dislike Hughes so much, but I really do.

Couldn't give a toss about Mancini, he'll be fine, and his pockets will be well lined. I just hate the way football is now. I have an extra copy of this (having received 2 when I ordered it for a Man City fan as a secret santa prsent) http://www.amazon.co.uk/Richer-Than-God-Manchester-Football/dp/0857384872 which I'm told is a very very good read about how football is these days. I plan to read it after I've finished the 2 books I'm currently on.
  15. The way City have dealt with the sacking is horrible. Pure business speak about targets, no understanding about sport and the fact that every other team and manager has the same targets and only one can win.
  16. Have played with a band at loads of weddings in marquees, some are better than others. If you get a good one, possibly devided in to a couple of rooms, then they're great.
  17. Not a good man / ego manager.

  19. Haha, I know, I was saying you'd confirmed what I'd read.
  20. I followed the fight on bbc website, and they reported it pretty much as you describe. Hope to find it on youtube and have a watch.

Good stuff Hona. We shoul;d probably lose that overdrive on the guitar, it's bound to set a boy's nerves on edge. In fact, we should probably lose the riff too. Strummed chords on acoustic guitars with a nice folk groove should do it.

As a kid I used to think Michael Jackson was sining to a librarian girl.
  23. So, cup aside, congrats to Lampard for breaking the Chelsea scoring record. I'm no great Chelsea fan, but hats off to a midfielder breaking the scoring record at any club! And you irons must be over the moon that BFS has signed a new contract! ;-)
  24. Wigan's FA Cup triumph yesterday reminded me of this. When I was at uni I knew a lovely girl from Wigan (yes I fancied her, but that is another story) and she was convinced that this song... ... featured the lyric "Heads high, kill the wiganer". Made me laugh. Others include Paranoid by Black Sabbath "I tell you to enjoy life, I wish I could but it's too late" has been mistaken for "I tell you to END YOUR life". And Jimi's Purple Haze "Excuse me while I kiss the sky" has been misheard as "Excuse me while I kiss THIS GUY". Any others?
  25. But having cross posted with Peckhamrye, I suspect a bit of a misunderstanding of the sentiment of their post.
