I have season 1 to watch, hear good things about it from friends.

Bristol is a great place with generally great people, please don't think I was tarring you all with the same brush. You are right that there are idiot men everywhere, I just noticed a fair few in Bristol, blokes that didn't notice the 1970s ending.

Not that I'm stereotyping every man from Bristol, but I think there are a fair few backwards bigots down there. Some years back a female friend joined me in visiting an old uni friend. We met him when he finished work on a Friday, and some of his workmates joined us for a beer. They were very blokey, and one of them just started making really crass comments to my friend about her boobs and stuff. For all he new she was my girlfriend, but he clearly thought I'd find it hilarious. Tool.

I don't think she intended to compare him to JS, it just didn't read as she probably heard it in her head. That happens to me sometimes anyway.

Very good writing, had not heard about this. Is he that very annoying bloke from Bristol? If so I always found him annoying but never would have expected him to be such a nasty piece of work. Bastard.

We used milkandmore for a while, but it was costing a fortune and we still ended up going round the corner for milk anyway, so we packed it in. Our milk man was a miserable git too.

2 or 3 years after I left Haberdasher's Aske's, the old head of 6th form and another male teacher were both fired for sexual relations with the then head girl. I was just amazed that she chose those 2 badly dressed balding arseholes as opposed to a younger teacher.

The clubbing thing RosieH mentions rang a bell. I remember when I was probably about 16, and in 6th form, going to a nightclub with a couple of mates. We were able to get in to these places, but our success rate with the ladies was somewhere around the 1% mark once in. Anyway, one night we saw these 2 girls that we recognised from symphonic band at school. These girls were at least 2 years below us in school, which would have made them 14 or 15. They were both wearing matching short red skirts, and little black tops, and were done up. We said hello and had a drink with them before going our own way. Later in the evening we saw them with 2 blokes easily in their 20s. Funny thing is, we wouldn't have even considered trying to pull them because we knew their age. Had we not known them however, and seen them in that club, we probably would have assumed they were older than us and out of our league (even though neither of them were exactly great looking... not that we were either).

I think they should be ashamed for doing business with an outfit like Wonga. Yes you can argue that Virgin was also a lender, but Wonga are legalised crooks.

Still far more likely to get flattened by a bus whilst out with their female nanny but anyway. Each to their own. I wasn't saddened by any individual on here, just the fear in our society.

There would be a greater chance of your child coming to harm whilst in the care of any nanny, male or female, than there would of you hiring a paedophile. What a very very sad society we live in. Overall the positive responses here are great, but the fact that two people wouldn't consider leaving their child with a man saddens me. Lets not forget these men would have to go through the same legal checks as any woman. Will you be looking for schools with only female teachers?

An employer won't look for any medical report until after they've offered you the job, and as DJKQ says, your GP can't send a medical report to Occupational Health until you sign a consent form. Half the people I know are on anti depressants, it's the wise thing to do, and there is no taboo around it anymore.

For pure convenience we do most of our shopping at Supermarkets or online. Oh, and we go to lidls for nappies and some other very good value things.

I'd love to see Medusa's completed risk assessment though.
