    Only just read this thread. For the record, most racing horses are very very well treated and loved by their owners / trainers. Not really a betting man myself, but used to work for Coral when I lived in Liverpool.

    Are you talking about The CPT? I never ate in Le Moulin, but I heard nothing but very good things about it from friends that had. It can't be denied though that the place could have looked a bit better from the outside.

    I agree that witch hunts are to be avoided, but the OP was clearly intimidated, on more than one occasion, and I think the man's behaviour does sound odd. Now maybe he is care in the community, and meant no harm at all, but maybe he wasn't. I think if I was a woman taking my kid to that playground on my own, I'd rather know about this, not so I could take my pitch fork, but just so I could be aware.

    Totally agree WOD. When I first moved away from London, I was taken aback at the lack of non white faces, and that was in Liverpool, a big city. I had a girlfriend from near Boro once, and she met her first black person at the age of 21. Where she was from, there was one Chinese family, who run the Chinese take away. So grateful to have grown up somewhere where I went to school with equal numbers of black, white and Asian kids.

    Absolutely! Another very close friend is moving away next week, leaving me with not many left in the area, and the ones that are left will likely be gone in a year or two (one to Ireland, would you believe).

    Ha ha, I remember having breakfast in a Singapore hotel, and finding some very bizarre looking things on offer. The little white chicken sausages were especially disturbing.

    Indeed, let's not fight. I am sorry if I've said anything that has offended you. I've done a search on the child abuse thing, and can't find anything. It does ring a bell if I'm honest, but certainly not in a "GF followers are child abusers" way.
