  1. Grace - Jeff Buckley... But then the silly bugger got himself drowned.
  2. Brave attempt in the second half, but so many sloppy schoolboy errors in the first, that we basically gifted them a huge lead in a "tight" match. You'd think an international rugby forward would know how to scrummage!
  3. Well done Wales, looks like England may well be following Ireland to the airport!
  4. It's sad he's died of a horrible illness at a young age. The Facebook tributes are pathetic though. I'd bet money that the majority of iphone users wouldn't have known who Steve Jobs was before he died.
  5. My phone is much sexier than an iphone. FACT!
  6. Bravo Sam, and Scor! It isn't always easy to jump in to these situations. I have come to someone's aid in thge past, only to be told they were mates messing around, and that I should f**k off. Obviously in this situation, they weren't mates messing around. My question (to no one inparticular) is why the hell wren't the other guards running to help!?!?
  7. I've always thought of it as dream land. Afterlife adds rather a sinister edge to it, like the other place in Twin Peaks with the backward speaking midget *shudders* Aaaaanyway, there is a wonderful song called "Roller in the coaster" by a guy called Justin Roberts, who sings songs for kids. Beautiful lyrics, and I love to cuddle my daughter to it.
  8. While Alan Shearer commented: "There is no way that's a red card. No way. I'm lost for words. I can't for the life of me see how that's a red card." Clearly not lost for words Alan.
  9. I can't believe that anyone would feel the need to moan about this.
  10. Agreed, shocking decision.
  11. I was in the EDT, Black Cherry, and Adventure bar on Saturday, between 4pm and about 11. EDT was packed, Cherry reasonably busy, Adventure pretty quiet, but was filling up as I left. I retired to the good old CPT for a quiet one.
  12. Personally there is no way I'd move so far from the grand parents, as they are such an important part of the kids lives. Every situation is different though.
  13. Fuck off.
  14. Scholes talking about that incident
  15. Pickle, your dad sounds so cool! I'd love a go on the trailer!!!
  16. "Bring Your Daughter... to the Slaughter" - Iron Maiden Gets me everytime.
  17. I don't think "brainstorming" is too w@nky, it's been around since primary school. Mrs Otta was told they weren't to use it when she was doing her teacher training at Goldsmiths.
  18. Much as I am with Strafer on this subject, there are some examples which make me laugh. No longer being able to brain storm, for fear of offending epileptics is a favourite.
  19. Wires, by Athlete. Always used to think it was a terrible durge but now it puts a lump in my throat.
  20. I'm torn here. Agree with MM that some of the regulations are ludicrous. Had a friend who run a pub in west norwood, and used to put out lovely hot snacks for people to enjoy (free) with their beer. She was threatened with closure because she was doing this out of her kitchen upstairs, not a commercial kitchen. Stupid! However, however much I enjoyed the food somewhere, I think I'd be put off if I found out it was being prepared in some dirty minging kitchen, especially if I was paying a hefty price for it.
  21. Are the schools in question academies? I thought they tended to specialise in something, be it languages, music. Ict. I see no problem with it, as it allows a talented child to go somewhere that would nurture their talent. Otherwise it would only be for those who could afford private education.

  24. Bloody Hell, you're ahead of the game!
  25. I used to live in a flat about half way down (near Halliwell Court flats), and I was in a bedroom at the front. Traffic noise never bothered me at all. That said, the houses at that part of the road do have big drives, so we were a fair way back from the road.
