It gets even weirder, De Gea sold to Madrid for ?29m. So a top top keeper for ?7m less than a promising 19 year. Strange goings on. David De Gea: Real Madrid & Man Utd agree ?29m deal for keeper - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/34108093

Didier Deschamps on Martial "He's got a good combination of pace and power. He's a young player obviously, but he's got an interesting profile in an area where it's not easy to find players with both strength and speed. "He's got good potential and I want to see how he does with the squad." Lot of money for some potential, but hey, he might be a superstar...

Whilst flogging a decent player in Javier Hernandez. I don't get it. Liverpool finally offload Borini to Sunderland. I wish him well, but pleased he's off the wage bill.
  6. I'm not really a pub eater either (the chips were for my daughter, I just nicked some), but this place clearly intends to make money through the kitchen, which is cool. However, when Dulwich Hamlet are at home, they are going to get a fair bit of trade coming in at 5pm Saturday, and it's unlikely that people are going to see that and choose to go for a quiet meal. Especially when it's raining and the garden is a non starter, just seems like a huge waste of space. Not trying to be critical of the place here, I genuinely want it to work, I just think DHFC Home Saturdays they'd be best served by encouraging that. Maybe pushing themselves as the unofficial DH club pub. Note, after this coming Saturday, DH will be away for three Saturdays on the trot, and not home again until October. They do however have some Tuesday evening games, so the pub may benefit from that for some late evening after match jars.
  7. I can do that. One of the "good" things (along with a freedom pass) that comes with having my weird eyes.
  8. What henry b said. Lots of unpleasant NIMBYism going on here.
  9. Maybe it's one of those things that some people just can't do. Like rolling your tongue (I can't).

I did see this quote yesterday. "Louis van Gaal has spent c.?230m on transfers in 14 months at Man Utd. Which is about ?100m more than Swansea have spent. In their history." Although as a Liverpool fan I can't really talk.
  11. I can understand them wanting to use the whole building, but I can't believe they would want to demolish a thriving cinema. They've probably decided that now there is a "more respectable" cinema in middle class East Dulwich they don't want to encourage those that can't afford ?12 a ticket. In the last couple of years, and for various reasons, I've really come to the conclusion that Southwark council are a bunch of wronguns.
  12. Can I ask why specifically you want to preserve the multi storey? I'm not saying you're wrong, just wondering what your reasons are? And is the cinema included in plans to demolish?
  13. Audley Harrison, hands down.
  14. Bollocks, totally forgot to do yesterday.
  15. Enjoyed a couple of pints after the Dulwich Hamlet match yesterday, and some very nice chips (well I'd actually call them wedges, but anyway). Have to say I don't understand why they kept half the pub reserved for earing when there wasn't a single person eating a meal. If I was going to go out for dinner, I wouldn't choose a place showing the football and full of post match drinkers. I'd say open the whole pub to drinkers until 8, then maybe have the foody side.
  16. If you missed yesterday, you didn't miss much, DH took an earlyish lead (apparently a good goal but I only heard the cheer as I walked up through the park) but after that it was pretty uninspiring stuff. Absolutely no width and very Scrappy. Ref was a total cunt who gave NOTHING our way. Then out of somewhere they added 5 minutes at the end and the bastards equalised with more or less the last kick of the match. Also gutted to hear that Harry Ottaway has left the club.
  17. http://www.factmag.com/2015/08/27/prs-for-music-takes-legal-action-against-soundcloud/ I don't really understand their point. Surely artists decide to put their music on soundcloud or not, and choose whether or not it's for public consumption, and whether or not people can download it. So what are PRS suggesting that Soundcloud should be doing differently?
  18. I'd not heard of people on the first list, but that's probably because soundcloud has a lot of independent artists.
  19. The fact the Meghan Trainer has made it in to the youtube top 10 tells us that lots of men appreciate the bass.

Band names are a nightmare to come up with!

Think you're on to a loser there Mick, but hopefully LFC can have a better crack at top 4 than most pundits have predicted. And yeah, Coutinho is great, which is why we need top 4 if we're going to hang on to him.
