  1. I have it on good authority that Green and Blue went because the rents just became unworkable. And they were not helped by their neighbours doing dodgy work without permission which resulted on sewage flowing in to Green and Blue, which the neighbours refused to sort out.
  2. Nope. You'd best hope he doesn't get wind of the fact you have tanks and guns.
  3. Mountain to climb for Brown after that second set tiebreak. Have to say he is very entertaining to watch, playing tennis in the way we don't really see so much now what with all the clinical (boring) perfection that has basically put me off. But unfortunately I think that clinical play is about to knock him out. Hope I'm wrong...
  4. To be fair, when I was a kid the window cleaner was a scruffy fella with a ladder, a bucket and a rag, and it freaked me out when he'd suddenly appear at the upstairs windows. It was not an expensive service and he'd do most houses on the street. When I had our windows done when living in a house in Sydenham a couple of years ago I was gobsmacked how expensive it was!
  5. Lindsay Davenport 1999 Wimbledon champion on BBC TV "It was a fantastic performance. She (Watson) showed everybody how much she has improved and how much she wants it. There's no shame in going down to possibly the greatest female player of all time."
  6. Are you joking AqM? When I was a kid we were poor, I am not exaggerating. We were lucky because my mum had inherited out house from her mum, but we were pretty poor. But we had the window cleaner round.
  7. I can believe there are parents who will never say no to their kids. They are seriously not preparing their kids for the real world. Although I can see the sense in the method where you neither punish nor reward, but rather talk it through. I just wouldn't have the patience.
  8. Yeah we used to occasionally meet friends at a little am dram theatre in West Norwood. Ridiculously cheap bar, it was great!

Admittedly I don't get out to the pub as much as I'd like, but this statement just seems to be a total exaggeration.
  10. Yeah I read that this morning. Seems shocking that the government can appartently hold an organisation hostage like that. "You get rid of the people we don't like, or you get no funding".
  11. Christ, sorry. Totally forgot. Right... Not known to most by his real name. He has an unusual aquarium in his house.
  12. I think if I had bins that were starting to smell a bit high, I'd probably spend the ?20 to save myself the bother. It's not like you'd be doing it every month, once or twice a year probably enough for a "deep clean". One thing I like about living on an estate as I now do, is that they have several of those big metal skip bins, so you just chuck everything in there and forget about it. Only downside is that although I chuck recycling stuff in the one marked for recycling, I suspect others don't bother so most of my beer cans probably end up in landfill.
  13. And one where you can get a good pint for under ?4. Or certainly no more than ?4. I'm still getting over my brief visit to The Palmerston last Sunday evening. If I am buying 2 pints, I want pretty much ?2 back from a tenner, not 20p. And my pint (Meantime) wasn't very nice either.
  14. What does it cost to have a bin cleaned then?
  15. I susspect Serena will win quite easily, but you never know. Hopefully I'll get to see some of it.
  16. Never gets old.
  17. Would like to see that but at work. What time is that match due to start?
  18. That's positive Alan.
  19. Absolutely. That was one of the things I used to love about the CPT.

Cool, I'll be coming round yours then.

  24. Indeed, during the fist couple of lines, I was taking it seriously, but soon realised it was a piss take, and quite a good one.
