  1. Very disappointing beer selection... After the selections at flying pig and ivy house, it's very much a step back If sue is correct and they are brewery tied there isn't much they can do about it. They are probably as annoyed as the customers That said, I did pay 3 pound something for a pint of lager which is cheaper than most places around here
  2. Anyone who wants simple: 1) go to bus stop 2) wait for bus That's it. Anything else is bonus good stuff. The fact that you can find out how long to wait, for any bus stop, even with a 1997 Nokia is science fiction ace ville Anyone with an ios or android device who isn't using citymapper app is a fool to themselves. Not just for buses but london wide transport. If you are worried about using in public, check before leaving house. But expanding and maintaining a board at every bus stop is financial and logistical ruin
  3. Arsenal me will be watching with Liverpool brother at the actress
  4. I hadn't noticed any coming down but these days there are apps which allow to to check ANY bus stop (regardless of wether it had a countdown or not) If you don't have a smartphone you can text a number (on the bus stop pillar) with a code for the stop and it will text you back with next buses There is an argument that says waving technology around at bus stops isn't very wise but in all the years I have been doing it I have never had a problem - I'm not advocating not paying attention to your surroundings... just be alert and you should be fine
  5. As the lady in questions reads and posts on the forum I'll be keeping an eye on this one...
  6. maxxi is on FIRE at the moment. Good work
  7. if the usual "I wish we had a nice Italian in ED" posts start popping up, I won't be responsible for my actions
  8. So many East Dulwich people go to the End of the Road festival in Lamer Tree gardens every year, the pheasants there have obviously picked up on where they should be checking out
  9. You could always "find" a review about a local business on tripadvisor And you could, without naming the business, link to it on here
  10. Isn't it at least a thousand quid?
  11. Dave would be less willing to make "veiled" threats if he didn't feel the rest of the newspaper industry would pile in behind him it has nothing to do with bodies other than the law - it's the same cosy politicians/media/law circle that saw papers get away with so much for so long After being initiatlly defensive, the US have accepted the need for this debate (surveillance) but Cameron is way behind the curve. If this country's press was worth fighting for it would be shaming him over this
  12. "There are quite a number of journos that have worked for both rags. 20 pieces of silver and they'll knock up 1000 words on anything I suppose." not sure how that pertains to the issue Loz? Leveson enquiry = most papers saying "no political interference! Free press is important etc" NSA revelations = not a peep from most of these upholders of freedom
  13. I look forward to the mail standing shoulder to shoulder with the guardian to protect press freedoms http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/oct/28/david-cameron-nsa-threat-newspapers-guardian-snowden
  14. The jab itself doesn't hurt - but I recall it feeling pretty ropey for a couple of days afterwards too. Not debiitating or anything just bruised and tender
  15. been a few years since my trip but I rcall going to DMC and having to have the jabs several weeks in advance. Will double check with other half as she went for 3 months
  16. Apparently 220000 homes without power in south of england according to Sky If you haven't been affected then well done, bully for you and be glad the constant sniping and cynicism is pissing me right off tho It's grown--ups jobs to monitor and track things like this and warn accordingly - it doens't guarantee anything, but it does allow people to take precautions if the worst happens. The worst hasn't happened and people seem to enjoy taking the piss about it fucks sake
  17. "Is there any evidence of double decker buses running? Hubbie is still insisting on getting into work early despite the warnings and thinks the Live Bus checker is accurate!" Buses all running fine - I left at 6:50 and had no problems. And Live Bus is as close to accurate as you can get so I'd say he's right
  18. couple of small trees/bushes on east Dulwich Grove out on street and lots of branches have been torn down. Couldn't use one of the walkways at elephant and Castle as a whole tree had fallen and blocked it off So looks like we missed the worst of it - but it wasn't nothing
  19. Isn't that why they evacuate downtown NY when they have hurricane warnings? It's a possible future event Given the mores of British weather it's unlikely to impact as badly as forceast - thankfully. But some caution is no bad thing?
  20. China? Nuclear?
  21. USA? Fracking?
  22. plus they have used what appears to be a real name - one easily googleable As they live close to me I can also vouch for the signs outside the property But my spidey senses did tingle initially, 'tis true
  23. What makes you think my response is arguing with you. I might agree with much of what you say but given the intensity and density of the prose I thought I'd introduce some levity. Not a problem surely
