  1. Clearly you don't know me Bob as we never met. The most embarrassing thing I've ever done was gulping down half a bottle of rum and being sick afterwards. I stopped caring what people think about me a long time ago when I realised most just didn't know any better. The same people, back in the day, would believe the world was square. Anyway, I am who I am, whether you like it or not. So get over your low self-esteem issues.
  2. I will go away. No point in arguing with low self-esteem individuals. It's their problem not mine.
  3. @edcam, It is you who have caused anxiety issues for yourself by reading more than what I actually said and not making sense of the information made available to you. Please end your blame game as I fear you are only making the situation worse for yourself and I see nothing wrong with my tone or langaguage. I simply spelled out the situation to you since you decided to use the blame game as a way to cover up for your ignorance. Ignorance means a lack of knowledge so please tell me how you know more about the ELLX2 than me? As I said before, the ELLX2 was subjected to the Comprehensive Spending Review 2010 after the Tories had won the general election. Perhaps the real issue here is that you don't know what is a Comprehensive Spending Review and how it led to timescales changing for ELLX2. In terms of physically building the extension, it was ahead of schedule.
  4. It seems I'm not the only one who have issues in interpreting your post, Bob. Some how I suspect you were one of those people who was bullied at a young age. Never was cool, never will be! So you go around posting endless useless crap on EDF as a way to deal your low self-esteem issues.
  5. Get over your low self esteem issues, Bob.
  6. Reap what you sow Bob. You joined to thread to wind up fazer and now you can't deal with it.
  7. I suppose if they made the service completely free of delivery charges then getting a locker becomes an issue, Sue. I've used Amazon prime before last december but Yodel/HDNL, who delivered my package, threw it into my back garden. Subsequently, my Amazon prime was ended soon after. The biggest problem with the locker system is that Amazon still uses Yodel to deliver packages unless you go for a more premium courier service. Also agree, that if you aren't working there there is no real need for a premium delivery service though missing Royal Mail deliveries makes acase.
  8. @James Barber, In answer to your question, yes, as I mainly use Nunhead, Peckham Rye and Queens Rd stations. The Victoria service from Peckham Rye will be identical to the service from Denmark Hill as they basically use the same train but will travel directly to Victoria only. Denmark Hill rail users will lose their direct link to London Bridge after 8 December this year. I have heard that London Bridge once had 22 platforms but each redevelopment have reduced the numbers. Perhaps if they could remove their cushy office block next to platform 16 and revise the track layouts then there would be enough space for platforms. @Twirly, Victoria trains will be crammed once SLL has ended. Also, this particular service isn't reliable compared to the SLL. There is a possibility for a four trains an hour to Victoria from 2014 but this is subjected to franchise agreements.
  9. Withdrawal of South London Line and train service in 2013 There'll be four trains per hour to London Bridge. However, there may be periods where no trains will travel to London Bridge because of the rebuilding project. No direct trains to Victoria on Sunday or after 7pm during Monday to Sunday. Two trains per hour during peak times and saturday service with no early morning trains. The term civil has nothing to do with what I've said earlier on. You only said that as a means to cover up for your ignorance by shifting the blame on to me. I merely questioned you because it seem you wanted a cast iron guarantee which doesn't happen in infrastructure projects like the ELLX2. Most people would be convinced by seeing test ELL trains on the new route, timetable changes in December and official TfL news release that new service will start in December. Not you, apparently.
  10. TQ, It's got nothing to snobbery but rather well developed good taste. Not everyone have good taste and are easily succumbed to marketing rather than making an informed choice. UPVC windows are the equivalent in pebble dashing a period property.
  11. I think they are, TED. There was an article in Southwark Life magazine offering small blue bins to community groups where they could grow plants inside them.
  12. I'm rather angry at the removal of the South London Line. A very useful line running since 1867 and gives access to central London areas. I am fully aware of transport matters but that doesn't make me a trainspotter in the real sense of the word. That term was dreamt up by Bic Bash because he was unable to argue on facts and so resorted to insults. Not surprising really as there are enough dim people willing to believe him. However, I'd suggest you don't try to work out what type of a person I am as you would only confuse yourself or get upset because I know a lot. Stick to the topic for a calmer self.
  13. Sue, As SJ said, there's no additional charge for using a locker. The locker is only available if you select Amazon prime, courier or 1st class delivery option. For ist class delivery cost see here http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=11072961 . Delivery rate can be as little as ?1.49 whereas if you order a number of electronic goods then there's a flat rate of ?3.99. Main advantage in using Amazon lockers is that you can collect your package up to 10pm each day whereas the Royal Mail have restricted opening hours. Not very good if you work during normal working hours and like a lie-in on a Saturday morning.

Not true Bic Bash, Amazon have been using Yodel for quite some time. They were formerly known as HDNL and their service are so bad that they actually make Royal Mail look like a professional outfit. Yodel/HDNL have been featured on BBC Watchdog and there's a petition @ http://amazon.epetitions.net/signatures.php?petition_id=2270&page_next=1200 to remove Yodel/HDNL as a delivery option for Amazon.
  15. Just discovered that Amazon have a locker system at the Co-op where you're able to order online and collect your goods from the Co-op next day. I'm interested in hearing how people have used this system espcially as the Amazon locker in the Co-op is my nearest outlet to where I live.
  16. UPVC windows is a bit like m&s clothes. Both promises a lot in terms of style and value but are clearly hideous and only suitable for the landfill.
  17. I rather like Nunhead for its unpretentious living environment. It's refreshing not seeing hoardes of chains in the area. And I don't care if there are hardly any restaurants in the area. I actually feel sorry for Dulwich as the area is being over-commercialised to cater for the new influx of people who are either inept or have pigeon style view to planning.
  18. So the rather distinctive East London line train seen running through Queens Road Peckham along the whole of the ELLX2 route as part of the testing process is not enough to convince you then, edcam?
  19. edcam Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > PN33 - it's already well behind schedule so I > wouldn't depend on the accuracy of 9th December. > Hope it does open then though! Actually edcam, the project is ahead of schedule and currently undergoing train drivers training. They could run the service tomorrow if they wanted, similar to ELLX1, but the 9th December date is when the train timetable changes for all rail companies in the UK. Previous ELLX2 deadlines were missed because the project was delayed because of the government's comprehensive spending review 2010 where all UK projects were reviewed for possible spending cuts. Fortunately, the ELLX2 was given the all clear back in October 2010 and building commenced for the first time shortly after.
  20. Answer: 9 December 2012 - see link http://www.tfl.gov.uk/corporate/projectsandschemes/15401.aspx eta: Trains have already run along the route for testing since June.

So hopefully there'll be no silly threads from style challenged people asking for a M&S shop in Nunhead.
  22. Bic Basher Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Oh dear, once again you're spinning a negative > agenda to a passenger who's looking forward to > improved services on the line. Classic trolling. Unable to argue on facts. So you resort to name calling. Even then you're still wrong as you're the lone ranger on the ELL being completing out of touch of people's travelling habits. > We'll see in December if passengers really care > about getting the least used part of the Southern > network re-instated or do what normal people do > and get on using with the services we already have > which has been the case where Overground services > have replaced Southern in Forest Hill and Honor > Oak Park. The South London Line has been running fine since 1867 but the ending of SLL happened because TfL asked DfT to end SLL to obtained finance to build the rest of ELL. The SLL was never a lost making operation. I'm afraid that's is poor scaremongering on Bic Bash part. > > Incidentally Mr Undisputed train anorak, your > previous argument about travel costs for the outer > SLL is complete crap, season ticket holders from > Battersea Park will be able to use their current > season tickets at no additional cost. Well I'm not willing to take advice from you. A couple of years ago, I once asked a ticket inspector for his advice about the cost of tickets in travelling on the outer SLL. He and his colleague were clear that you had to have a travelcard which covers all of the zones where the outer SLL travelled. Anyway, I'm more of a fashion and trainers anorak than a train anorak but that's another story.

It'll look ridiculous in Peckham. I'll bet people in the 1900s were bored with London Bricks. Unfortunately, there are no decent artistic brickies to pull off such a job in the station forecourt. When you also consider lighting and spatial matters, you'll quickly realise bricks are a really poor choice forthis type of project.
  24. Not sure why you're using the rolleyes here. The fundamental fact you've failed to understand is that the ELL will worsen travelling times to Victoria and offers a slight improvement to journeys to Chiswick. The trains going from Clapham Junction to Chiswick also serves Queenstown which is only hree minutes away. Too many people have explained this situation where the ELL will make their journeys worse. Yet you still don't get it, Bic Basher.
  25. Personally I'd like to see the station frontage restored to its former glory. Last night was the first I've seen of his new design.
