Buying a greenhouse...any advice welcome

At some point in my life I may take up gardening but want to make sure it's done to a very high standard. -
What Evra may have done is immaterial when Suarez is alleged to be using racist language. The football authorities have worked hard to stamp out racism from the game. If Suarez is found guilty and it should be easy to prove using video evidence and a lip reader then a lengthy ban (minimum 12 months) is in order. This sort of behaviour cannot be tolerated in the modern game.

Suarez is scum. He has a track record of cheating and even biting another footballer's ear.

Absolutely maxxi, I'm always having fun even when others are trying to insult me. To be honest, I tend to take the view that their insults says more about them than me. Anyway, if they can't get a simple purchase of a PC right then what else can they get right.

Interestingly, SME's makes up 99.2% of all enterprises in the UK and yet the larger enerprises accounts for around 40% of employment.

Now somewhere to grow my Basil
-
@Katie, I was just slightly correcting your analogy to include the cost aspect. Anyway, building a PC isn't difficult at all as long as you have good analytical skills to choose the components and able to follow instructions. Any reasonably intelligent person should be able to build a PC from instructions.

I love Pesto. :) Basil is an interesting herb as, Peter rightly stated, it needs a warm place to grow and in addition needs plenty of light. -

Sorry the sandals thingy is just too shocking for me. I can't stand sandals. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I love my trainers though but that is another subject. B) John Lewis is okay and their stainless steel pots are still going strong in my kitchen after 16 years. If my memory serves me right, John Lewis have a very limited range of computer equipment and seems to have a much wider range of Dell laptops. Not so long ago their TV sales staff didn't know the difference between TN, IPS & PVA panels. Shocking really as I considered this an important but basic piece of information when weighing up a tv purchase. @Jeremy, interesting pictures though the designs are not to my taste. PC cases have moved on and comes in different shapes and sizes. The Lian Li case, second from bottom, is part of their special design where each year they would do something different. In one year a case had a spider design. The Thermaltake case featured in the second picture has hot-swappable drive bays. Personally, I like my cases to be made out of metal rather than plastic with an understated design. Sorry Jeremy but those pictures doesn't represent my tastes. Maybe yours? @Katie. Sometimes sourcing individul products usually turns out to be the cheaper and superior option since you're bypassing the costly marketing nonsense.

Thanks Peter. I'm also looking at hydroponics as another option to grow Basil and other herbs indoors. -
The main reason for building a PC is so that I can tick all my boxes for my requirements. For example, the fans must be whisper quiet, the computer must be fast with no lagging, powerful PC performance that is suited to my needs, compact system, quality monitor, and above all a stylish system that will make an Apple Imac look like an overprice plastic junk. Unfortunately, you're not going to get a computer which tick all of the boxes if you buy one from a PC vendor unless you pay an extortionate amount of money like you do with Apple products. So Otta, the choice is yours as it's your money and you may have to make a number of compromises before you buy one. With the number of don't know any better people starting to appear on this thread I think it's time for me to better spend my time looking for my ideal PC speakers and PC sound system.

Me too. I would like to grow herbs like Basil throughout the year. -
Moi, I'm nice as pie. :)

Linn, Naim, Musical Fidelity, and Arcam are some of the higher end companies producing sound equipments for PCs. I can tell KalamityKel doesn't know much about HiFi or anything else for that matter.
-
I was doing too many tasks at once. Mainly listening to music, eating and searching for HiFi quality PC speakers.

Sorry, too lazy to proof read my posts. Unfortunately these errors does happen from time to time. Especially with double negatives. Loz pointed one out a few months ago.

These days Apple no longer have a performance leap over windows pc and with a possible Windows 8 release next year it seems Microsoft would be the performance leader. It also possible possible to hack a PC to dual boot Apple OS so the argument about which is better is now pretty much irrelevant. I just feel sorry for the Apple fans who think they are getting something special but actually they are overpriced nicely designed products. At least I'm not exploited for my lack of ignorance by the Apple corporation. @Otta, http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/test-centre/desktop-pc/3219072/group-test-whats-the-best-budget-pc/ For around ?500 you can pick up a not bad system, Intel i5's, and certainly beats the HP crap using the i3 processor. But I guess you may want to pay just little bit more for something that looks nicer.

THe Lighthouse Family is what I term as commercial music. Like I said before, Apple products uses quality components but they come with an added premium on top. The Iphone cost ?200 to make but retails for ?700. That is a huge profit margin for Apple. For me, the Apple brand has lost its coolness quite some time ago and now appeals to the don't know any better crowd. With virtualisation you could run Apple software on a PC machine. @acm,I've became aware of virtualisation a few years ago and am planning to use it in he next few months to play around with Linux and to increase my PC security.
-
@acm, what ever. If you were polically aware, which no doubt you're not, there was a talk involving Michael Portillo and one other politician a couple of weeks ago about fears by people losing money in various banking transactions or money disappearing from bank accounts in relation to the banking crisis. I've worked with consultants before so I'm afraid I see consultants are nothing special and overpaid. You can wave your willy as much as you want but it is likely to get chopped off here. Please stay on this thread as I'm sure some people are too happy to buy low spec office PC. It doesn't bother me the slightest.

Not bad - a fusion of old skool reggae with south London influence. Unfortunate those who are into commercial music will never get it!

And as for your willy waving it seems the banks have too much money than sense. No wonder this country is in ruin. With the virtual IT system does this mean people's money will disappear into virtual accounts?

Well it seems the Insight's HP units are mainly 'specced' for business users. For example it has windows professional and only 2gb of RAM which frankly is disappointing. The monitor is okay but there are much better ones for just a bit more money. Alternatively, a monitor with much better picture quality can be bought for less if height adjustment is not needed. Typically the going rate of 8GB of RAM is ?42 and this works out to around ?5 per GB. ACM has stated ?20 per GB for memory which sounds ridiculously expensive. Typically 4GB should be enough for most users and the only reason for buying more is to future proof your system as software these days are not very efficient in hardware usage. ACM, are you still claiming to be an IT consultant?

Then get you to buy their overprice warranty.

Dell sells AIOs with similar specs to the Sony for ?699 but also includes a 23 inch touch screen.
-
Otta Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Any opinions on All in ones? All in ones (aio) tends to be overpriced, low 'specced' and can be difficult to upgrade/repair. Apples tend to have quality components but their equipment are overpriced for what they do. Sony are not exactly a player in the PC market but are renown for their reliable laptops using quality components. PC World, the shop, tends to mainly caters for those who don't know any better. Likewise with M&S. Better informed people tend to build their own PC as they can build exactly to how they want it.
