My score was 15. Since when trick and treat at Halloween became a British way of life? Well at least I beat Hugo's score.

The Waitrose in Marylebone is not my favourite branch. Really long queue that mazes round to the freezer section.

Shocking ref decision on the Rodwell sending off. That Saurez is such a cheat.

So, this GS trader then

One just have to look at the price of gold to realise the markets are still jittery. -
Free schools - the more the merrier
Undisputedtruth replied to silverfox's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Free schools should work in the short term as they benefit from the injection of capital. The real test starts when they have to work with limited funds. Personally Free schools would be a disaster in the long term and the public sector would then have to clear up the mess. -
I loved the bit where Ed talked about the oldest truth in politics. I'm just wondering if Mr Milliband is trying too hard to be his own man.

What the heck is the massive blue bin for.
Undisputedtruth replied to the-e-dealer's topic in The Lounge
You can also recycle Tetrapaks in the blue bin. So well done Southwark Council even though Lewisham were able to recycle Tetrapaks for a number of years. -
AM, I used to shop regularly in Waitrose up until a couple of years ago but I've never bought any ready made meals from them. But I do rate their normal food and customer services. UDT

Both Lampard and Gerrard lack discipline to play in the centre of midfield together. Personally I would opt for a 4:5:1 with a holding midfielder just behind Lamps & Gerrard. Then give Lamps and Gerrard the freedom to attack and score goals. Also England needs to play with more tempo because that's what the English game is all about. For some unknown reason they won't play it in international football. I think you're a bit harsh on the England players and I can't believe you've missed out Rio Ferdinand, local boy, from the list of world class players. I also like players who can read the game and I hear Phil Jones is a defender who can read the game well. Not sure Donkey Adams was a world class player and Sheringham always lacked pace to be one. Scholes was a superb player but couldn't tackle for love nor money. As for France, Italy and Spain, well France was one the first teams to be knocked out of WC tournament, Italy had an ageing squad and Spain were lacking in strikers.

@DJKQ - England have great players. The problems really are lack of self-belief, playing style and the team's balance. @RD - Well at least Fergie can rely on goal cushions to counteract his goalie's mistakes.

I believe there's an opportunity for Bold Tendencies to grasp the car park as a regular venue. Otherwise, Southwark Council will just cite a lack of interest for the car park and knock the building down for housing. Then that will be the end of Bold Tendencies as we know it. But yeah, I do agree with your views, JMT.

@R-D , I see Fergie has already calling for protection for his keeper. @DJKQ, I don't really watch Coronation Street but you should really need to watch Mceachran play before commenting. I know good players when I see one through their physique, first touches, composure on the ball and decision making.

I think Anceloti's job was at risk so it's hardly surprising youngsters like Mceachran and Sturridge were not featured in the team. I think we'll see more of Josh this season since Chelsea have refused his loan to another club. I've no idea what the press thinks of him but have you seen him play yet, DJKQ?

Ed Balls 'deeply sorry' over banking crisis
Undisputedtruth replied to Loz's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
There was certainly a lack of leadership between the three institutions: Bank of England, the HMT and ths FSA. But tbf the trading instruments are complex in nature and were probably lobbied by bankers not to regulate the markets. -
I'm more of goal keeping agent, RD!!! Man U definitely needs a good keeper don't you think?

MM, I was merely pointing out that Tory's policies were not original and I am convinced their thinking are one dimensional. No doubt I could easily cricise their policies but prefer to save that for later. Labour and localism - this must be an ironic comment Perhaps you've never followed what Labour were doing. Clearly you weren't aware of John Healy's work on the sub-national review. Nor were you aware of the work done by Hazel Blear, the former Communities Secretary of State, to decentralise government and her commitment to give the people more power. I suppose you don't know about Local Area Agreements either. With regards to Michael Gove's Free Schools policies, even the Swedish ministers are saying that it wouldn't work in this country. But hey, it doesn't matter, since the Tory chums are licking their lips with the prospect of making more money at the detriment of children's education and taxpayers. Again, it seems the Tories haven't thought through on the Canadian example since they haven't factored in growth and the world economic climate. Yes, the policies are hurting but they're not working. The economic record of Labour's administration tends to be far better than the Tories since the second world war. Not sure why you thought Labour were irresponsible with spending when they have built new hospitals, schools and tackled urban decay. I suspect you call that irresponsible spending because of your greed for money in your pockets. Sod the nation as long as your pockets are full with money is what really matters to you. I'm puzzled to why you think your day job is of any particular importance to me and a sign of good character. Let me remind you that Dr Harold Shipman was an NHS GP and look what he did to some of his patients!

Not for me and it's a matter of when not if. Mceachran has played an handful of games. Making his historic Chelsea debut at the age of 17 by becoming the first player to be born and play in the Champions League era. He also made his league cup debut against Newcastle at a time when Chelsea was losing 3-1 and down to 10 men. Mceachran shined throughout his appearance in the centre of midfield. Chelsea fought back to 3-3 and was chasing for a win before losing the game in the final stages. Edited: typo error in more

BRENDAN BARBER TUC SPEECH

Absolutely not, MM. What a ridiculous thing to say! -
50p tax rate - perception or impact
Undisputedtruth replied to Marmora Man's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I agree with DJKQ, the timeframe for ring fencing implementation is far too long. Also a full separation from the banks' investments from the retail aspects would be far better to avoid internal fraud by the banks themselves. It's not clear whether the 10 percent assets will be enough to cover leveraged financial products. -
Ed Balls 'deeply sorry' over banking crisis
Undisputedtruth replied to Loz's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
The banks, credit raters, and regulators have all to blame for the banking crisis. Credit raters - for giving AAA ratings for toxic financial products without carrying out full investigations Banks - for their sheer greed and lack of due dilligence Regulators - for not understanding the complex financial instruments Ultimately the banks have lost the money but the losses are covered by the tax payers. In trading it's a sum zero game where someone loses money and the other one gains. So the tax payers are the real losers and the super rich are now even richer. -
@DJKQ, I think the success of Barcelona is down to their players' work ethics and style of playing football. I very much doubt Iniesta and Xavi would be as effective if they played for different teams. I remember my coach telling me you're only as good as your weakest link. When I first saw Wilshire 2.5 years ago I thought he was one for the future but the speed of his progression had startled me. I think Mceachran is an even better player so let's hope he'll be in the England set up within the next 18 months.

Marmora Man, the arrogance of your last post stuns me. The Tories have nicked the policies: on schools from Sweden on localism from the Labour party on economics from the Canadians Perhaps, Marmora Man, these policies are new to you and with your arrogance you think that nobody else doesn't know about them. If you fully understood the Michael Gove's changes on schooling then you would realise it's a divide and conquer on the current schooling system with the ultimate goal in privatising schools for profits. Last week I was hearing Lord Willis, admittedly a Lib Dem, on the radio in my local barber and he was putting forward a case for running schools for profit. I guess you take the attitude of I'm alright Jack as long as you keep your money in your pocket while kicking the undesireables such as disabled people when they are down. Same ole Tories. I tell you what, why don't you spell out your rationale behind their policies and I'll give you mine. I think it's time I put an end to your arrogance.
