Bicycle thefts from Sainsbury's car park
Undisputedtruth replied to A1234's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I'm interested to know what is Sainsbury doing to reduce the bike thefts on their land? Given that their Chief Executive Justin King is committed to green causes and cycling is one of the most greenest form of transport around. I wonder if the dysfunction cctv is related to the fact it would take up security's time to rummage through the footage. I would also suggest bike insurance in addition to the suggestion from above. -
Danny Welbeck had made the difficult choice when he chose England over Ghana. In case of the Boateng brothers, Jerome chosen Germany while Kevin-Prince played for Ghana and was on opposing sides during the World Cup 2010. With Frimpong making his first English Premiership start for Arsenal last Saturday, England has signalled their intent and this week selected him for their U21 squad. http://www.footballtransfertavern.com/2011/08/premiership/frimpong-beauty-or-the-beast It seems there are a wealth of very good technical young English players playing for various clubs such as Chelsea, Everton, Liverpool and Manchester Utd. Josh Macceachran is another impressive young talent.

I agree with LadyD. The problem here is that the usual few seems to think they have the god given right on this forum, in the absence of expertise in the relevant areas, to determine what's true or false. Then ultimately accusing the poster to be a previously banned member without having the full acts to hand. There is truth in what NewNexus is saying if you understand what are derivatives, gearing/leverage and how toxic investment vehicles are being sold to financial institutions (pensions, investments and insurance). So far we've had the first wave being the banks. Next may be the insurance sector and then the pension sector. All timebombs waiting to happen. -
or England... I suspect the decision to bring Frimpong to the England team will come sooner than later. Players these days do not honour their contracts muchless keep to their word.

Wenger said: "And comparing his two midfielders [Wilshire & Frimpong], Wenger added: "Frimpong is a bit less of a dribbler but he's a fighter and a winner." @Alan Medic, That may be true but Frimpong is selected for the England U21 game next month.

If the Treasury, Bank of England and the FSA couldn't understand the events leading to the banking crisis, what chance EDF have in understanding future financial dissaters? NewNexus mentions derivatives but he should also talk about gearing/ margin trading and this should give you the scale of future financial losses. -
Alan Medic Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I think Frimpong wants to play for Ghana not > England. He is already picked for the England U21 team and have played for the England's U18s and U16s teams. Capello is a fan of Frimpong and Wenger has suggested last year that he should be quickly picked for England's first team given his choice of countries to play for. When would you start playing with us? Are you scared of Re-re's toe crunching tackles?

Generally I wish more clubs put more faith in their youngsters than spending millions of pounds on players from abroad. of Chelsea is another good player to watch out for. With Frimpong he is a future England international and I like to see him paired up with Wishire.

I'd like to see more Wenger's youngsters and hope he doesn't get his cheque book out. That Frimpong is the midfield terrier arsenal badly needs. Apparently Arsenal have two really good young centre backs. One is currently loaned to Rangers.

Hacking thing has been ludicrously overblown

I think the main point MNH was trying to make is that Coulson, when he was in public office, was required to report any received income from other sources under the Special Adviser's code of conduct to avoid any conflict of interest issues. This omission raises questions about Coulson's integrity and activities. Andy Coulson's payout: a problem for the Tories? -
The code of conduct covers misleading Parliament, Loz.
-
I think the main point MNH was making was that Coulson was receiving financial benefits from News Internation while being employed in 10 Downing Street. There is a Special Advisor's code of conduct which covers this conflict of interest. I think the main question here should be 'did he break the code of conduct'?

The great danger to your argument, Huguenot, is that increasng numbers of young people are turning their backs to society and creating their own parallel world, rules and economy. They are judged by their peer groups in terms of what their contributions and self-worths are. -

Prince Charles, through his Prince's Trust, knows more about young people and their problems than someone like Cameron who doesn't have a clue.

I came across the word patois during the early eighties and at the time I didn't know what it was. During the nineties I visited St Lucia and saw my Uncle speaking Patois and for me that language was very distinctive. I visited other countries in the Caribbean and didn't come across anything as distinctive as St Lucian Patois. -
That's because most people don't understand the issues surrounding young people. Yet some of their knee jerk comments, such as scrapping benefits and/or evictions, were made in complete ignorance. I welcome TBs article as a foundation for great debate on the riots aftermath.

Huguenot Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > "Once you've heard proper St Lucian Patois then > there is no contest." > > Did you really say 'My dialect is better than your > dialect'? What I meant was St Lucian Patois is derived from French while the so called Jamaican Patois is English based and not particularly dinstinctive to the way other West Indian speaks. But yeah, there have always been inter Island rivalry and I would imagine the Jamaican Patois was invented to rival the St Lucian Patois. -

Rosita, the messages relayed by Lady Daliah was no different to what I've heard while growing up in South East London during the eighties. Those who remember the bad old days under Tories would certainly communicated this to their children. Throw in the cuts and you have a recipe for riots under a Tory government. -

MissNoodlesHats Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I would be intrigued to know what you consider to > be a 'valid political discourse'? It's also very difficult to put into words as well. One such thought is the 'us and them' talk on this forum and by the Tory party including some right wing press. They are so out of touch with young people today that it doesn't leave me with any hope that these complex issues relating to the riots can ever be resolved in future. So how can we remove the 'us and them' talk and start looking at the core issues in order to create a more cohesive society? I'm not saying everyone on this forum is against our young people as Mockney Pier, LadyDelilah, and others have demonstrated understanding of the complex issues. Deleted 'how' in 2nd para, 2nd sentence.
