No deal here we come! I think that may be the plan. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2019/feb/13/kicking-up-dust-little-sign-of-progress-in-uk-eu-talks?CMP=twt_gu

I'd argue that it isn't the safest place to cross and that the island is a contributing factor in making it more dangerous than elsewhere. If you see reaching the island as a sort of safe haven to reach while crossing, you tend to only look in the direction you would expect a vehicle to come from. Because of the island and the fact that parking is legal quite close to it, it often makes it difficult for larger vehicles to get by. Due to this, sometimes they will pass the island on the wrong side on the road rather than go slowly. A while back I was a microsecond away from being flattened by a van which accelerated to do this. So in my opinion far from being safe, its position with parking in close proximity, make it a potential death trap as I almost found out.

  6. Half of them had those transparent shields. Weird.
  7. I think I just saw about 20 police in riot gear marching at speed past the Great Exhibition pub. Was I hallucinating?

My EU passport holding brother and his English partner retired to Spain last Summer. Haven't communicated much with them since but appears she has the right to stay now. Don't know the specifics.
  10. In case reminders are needed Mick Mac and DR, you have yet to make your predictions.

I doubt that's the case but in a WC year experience will count for a lot. Also with rugby being so attritional there's always going to be injuries.
  12. Ah, SJ or even JS. I've not been on here too much lately. I blame Brexit and Twitter.

I wasn't a regular but would sometimes stop off there in preference to anywhere else on the way home. Time flies.

I believe in Canada it's enshrined in their law that any referendum has to involve a vote on clearly defined options. That certainly didn't happen here in the case of Leave (we all knew what we voted for nonsense)vote.
  18. Thanks. That made me realise a guide book would do the trick.

Ah right, I see. Well I do now, but I didn't then. Thanks.
  20. I headed to the one I found online and discovered it has closed down. Does anyone know if they have a presence anywhere in London? Just wanted to get some info/maps of Rome.

You've taken my post out of context Jenny!

robbin Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > The notion of organised 'opposition' to a decision > taken in a democratic vote (with a huge voter > turnout) does seem a bit odd, in a democracy. So who are those chaps who sit opposite the PM in the HOC every Wednesday? Is that the viewing gallery?
