Allow the UK to unilaterally decide to leave the backstop on condition the people of NI are allowed to vote on having 'special status' is an option worthy of consideration as this article suggests: https://www.irishtimes.com/opinion/let-people-of-northern-ireland-decide-their-brexit-fate-1.3985214

I started listening to Iain Dale on LBC last night and realised I have just had enough of listening to people who are pro Brexit. I switched over. Getting to the end of my resistance. Part of me just wants to see certain people try and explain away the shit when it hits the fan.

  5. Should be a doddle for England given they got the difficult one out of the way!

Homeland on Netflix is addictive for a few seasons. Designated Survivor is pretty good too.
  8. In too and straight to the top of the table!

  11. This is a sadly underused thread.....

I think Banks has tried to stop it. And Pete North blocked me on twitter and I know not why.

It's all in our heads...? https://medium.com/the-politicalists/the-17-cognitive-biases-that-explain-brexit-894ec10e03b8
  14. I have a Chinese phone myself but don't want to go there again due to the potential problem with updates. Also the phone bit is prone to peculiar faults.
  15. I don't know anything about what makes a good camera, but I want to get a phone for someone which has one. I don't want to spend a lot (maybe ?250). I have overdosed on reading reviews and don't feel any the wiser. Any recommendations would be gratefully received.
  16. Tim Martin is an idiot. If you don't see it, you're an idiot too!
  17. Unless you're a party member you don't get to vote for the next PM.
  18. What Hunt said was unbelievable. Even if it if likely to happen, does any politician say out loud specific people will lose their jobs because of tariffs and that democracy comes first? Has he an ulterior motive or is the country just madder than I thought?
  19. Who gives a shit about where he hangs out,his parking tickets or how many posters are on his car? This imbecile is likely to dictate the future of this country. And it won't be a good outcome as he's not qualified for the job. ETA No offence intended to you JohnL. Just annoyed about BJ. There's a theory that the event was actually a distraction a la Trump, to avoid actually having to having explain away policies that can't work.
  20. Hunt visits a business which employs 350 people. It has 50% of the EU market. A no deal Brexit with 10% tariffs would put it out of business. Was I hearing things when I though he said it would be worth it? What sort of fucked up logic requires a remainer MP prove how pro leave he now is by saying that? This bloody country is politically seriously ill.
  21. This is all a brilliant distraction from the shite he spoke yesterday. The man with no plan, that will work.
  22. Michael Portillo on This Week suggested that the way BJ will get out of the corner is by letting the people of NI have a referendum on the backstop. The one which affects NI only. On the face of it this makes sense as NI is overall pro EU. How he would bring about this is another thing.
  23. He doesn't want to leave without a deal but he can't possibly say how he would get one by October 31st. Why are some contenders spouting this bollix?
