Joe, to extract the country from the EU is a complex issue (as you say) which the current government has shown itself incapable of dealing with due to TM having to deal with the different factions in her own party. I for one have no confidence that they are capable of deciding what is best for the country, when in my opinion they are deciding what is best for each of them individually. If it's a case of a 'people's vote' or parliament deciding, I will accept it. This is on the proviso that MP's are not whipped into voting one way or another.Leaving will be a disaster in my opinion. A free vote after debate is the best option. Then at least the UK will get the country it deserves.
  2. What is the point of this? Are people protesting about not being able to ride naked?

May has two weeks to come up with a cunning plan https://www.irishtimes.com/news/ireland/irish-news/government-gives-theresa-may-two-weeks-to-solve-border-issue-1.3516829 The natives (well sort of) are getting restless https://www.irishtimes.com/news/world/uk/dup-dismisses-uk-government-s-half-cooked-ideas-on-border-1.3516835

Well at least a commercial venture is keeping some people employed. I was woken up by a group of noisy morris dancers a couple of weeks ago who were performing outside a local pub. I doubt they were being paid and I don't think my reaction would have been any different if they had been. Oh look, silly morris dancers I said to myself, as I got back into bed.
  10. A mere 255 posts Bob. One for each new potential business venture?

  12. What are UK values? In this age of Brexit I just see a whole lot selfishness and idiocy.
  13. This is interesting in light of the recent comments. The are the clubs participating in next season's Women's football league.

You make this sound like it's an everyday occurrence. Who are these people boldly using the word 'lady' who don't like being corrected?
  15. In what circumstances would you be gently correcting someone cella? I see the use of the words girls, women or ladies as being pretty much the same and find it hard to comprehend why anyone would be bothered by the usage of one or the other. They are just words.
  16. Hello James, a street lamp on Crystal Palace Road (opposite the Great Exhibition pub) has obviously been hit by a vehicle. It looks like it could be dangerous given the angle it's at. It is located in the middle of the road on a island for pedestrians (don't know the correct term for this). I rang the council to report this on Friday but I have to say I wasn't convinced that the person who took the call was interested or even took note of it. Perhaps you could arrange for this to be dealt with urgently?
  17. I prefer 'gentsplaining', being of a certain age and mindset.

I didn't read that thread but wondering is the word 'ladies' offensive to women, and if so why? I only ask because if the male equivalent is 'gents', I just wouldn't find that at all offensive.
  19. I wonder might we see the (re)emergence of $$$$'s or even Euro Shod?
  20. I'm in Red. Have you got a frog in your throat?
  21. I think woodrot came and went under different names. Gingerbeer was American and came here on a temporary basis if I remember correctly.
  22. Only because this is your thread and I just read the other thread. Nothing sinister and it wasn't true either. I found the speculation amusing. Please don't be offended. I've upset one person on Twitter this week-end who thought I was rude when I didn't mean to be. I don't want to make a habit of pissing people off.
  23. Yes.
  24. Only 7 for me in this incarnation. There was once a thread about me written when I was on a break. It's like reading what people really thought of you after you died. Someone thought it was RPC what killed me..........Quite a few of the posters on this thread have gone now, or merely resting. http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?20,1477511,page=1
  25. As long as idiots have a vote, things like this will happen. Thanks James & good luck.
