  1. On a slightly different subject, are disabled parking bays done on request? There's a new one on CPR which I've yet to see used in the few weeks its been there.
  2. As they say, 0-0 is a dangerous result.

I wonder why letters get leaked? Johnson & Gove appear to be running the Brexit show...... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5073567/Boris-Gove-s-plot-hijack-Number-10-exposed.html

What the f... is TM hoping to achieve by declaring we will leave the EU on such a date at a particular time. 11 o'clock. Why not 10.30? Why bother say anything? This whole thing is worse than a farce.
  7. For the most part players give 100% on the pitch, which is about as much loyalty you can expect in that profession.

It's just too sentimentalist. I don't have a guilt complex Nigello. I didn't vote to tell people to get out of the country. I'm aware that many foreign people here have been made to feel unwelcome. If that's being sentimental, so be it. As for their employment being secure, well it won't be if they have to leave post Brexit. PS what you describe as condescending is the fact I mentioned how nice they were. They could have been grumpy and rude and the same question would have entered my head.

    Really?

How did you deal with it the last time it happened? Why not name the school?
  10. I forgot that. Did United choose wisely do you think Red?

Very unusual for me to visit two local places in the same day, one to buy shoes and the other for a haircut. In both cases I was served by delightful people with foreign accents. I have one myself but as English is my first language I doubt they could distinguish mine from an English one. Having a nice rapport with both people and being of a curious nature, I normally wouldn't think twice about asking them where they were from. But this time I did, simply because of Brexit and some of the horror stories I seen or read about how 'forreners' have been treated. I was afraid I might make them feel uncomfortable. I took the plunge and asked them anyway, with no harm done. A Frenchwoman who loves it here (I should have known that accent) and an Albanian with a great sense of humour. I'm just wondering if any anyone else has had a similar degree of feeling uncomfortable because of Brexit? Am I being too sensitive about it?
  12. I read extracts of his interview and I could understand someone from abroad not settling here. That's fair enough. What makes me laugh though is that he was most likely telling the truth initially and then on advice some up with this 10 year contract which is pure bull****. As for loyalty, well it's a career and can be a short one. Rooney moving from Liverpool to Manchester was not because of cultural differences. Morata preferring to move back to Spain or even Italy is a different kettle of fish.
  13. Morata: Can't see myself staying in London long Clarifies comment: Can't see myself staying in London long after I stop playing football. Would probably sign a 10 year contract with Chelsea if offered one. Of course you would.
  14. This made me smile. According to my AI friend Alexa, when I asked her for the Sports News, she said various things including upcoming football fixtures. Apparently tonight Liverpool are playing North Korea Maribor. I had to listen to it twice to make sure I wasn't hearing things.
  15. Is Trump losing the plot completely or is this possibly fake?
  16. I can't compete. I went off UG when he declared he had a bath/shower once (or maybe twice) a year. He could be the Pope and I'd have gone off him. (just using the Pope as an example of someone who supposedly has good credentials)
  17. I'd like to say something on the footie thread but I'd feel like a spoilsport...
  18. Bloody well done from 0-2 down. Great year for under age international teams in England. Will it ever convert into a great year for the seniors is the question? Prem League may say no. They won't get a chance.......
  19. Quite a few seemed disturbed by how many non white players there are in the team.
  20. In case anyone is interested and doesn't know, England play Spain in the U17 WC Final today. It's on BBC2 @ 15.30 I think. Some of the comments after this article would make you worry about this country, if you weren't already: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/41753974

As RD mentioned, I've no idea how they will deal with the Irish border problem. You can't work this out with rational thought as the whole thing is irrational.
