  1. The way they work it out based on my monthly season ticket cost. The amount is right even if it doesn't seem right. What bugs me is sometimes you find out you can use the ticket on other forms of transport. When do they relay this information? Usually after you have paid for an alternative form of transport.
  2. I'm amazed anyone could get away with that in such a public area.
  3. Thanks malumbu (and others) for bothering to add your input. This is a small family run company and being in a union wouldn't make any difference. There is no conflict, just a difference of views. I happen to think the MD is a very nice guy but makes really stupid mistakes. It was his mummy's company and he never had any experience of working anywhere else.

    Top Tips

I seem to remember there was a thread called this, possibly started by a long departed woof. So given my experience this morning, I'd thought I'd start another one. I received my usual annual renewal notice for buildings and contents insurance from ironically another 'dog', and as I had been on a filing spree with my new shredder (thanks for the suggestions and particularly Laddy as I bought one of your Which options) I noted the 13% increase in the cost. I didn't work that out in my head by the way. So I decided to use a price comparison site. I ended up getting the same policy with the same nodding dog for almost 50% less. The moral of the story is don't accept automatic renewals. Feel free to share any more 'top tips'.
  5. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/european/how-real-madrid-helped-to-rebuild-manchester-united-after-munich-air-disaster-8492422.html United were 'offered' the European Cup by Madrid in 58. They declined but this is a great story anyway.
  6. Getting a 100.......
  7. I just got my first rail vouchers. 90p compensation for ED to LB being cancelled. I thought it would have at least covered the cost of the bus journey but what do I know?

I've a similar problem knowing which way the clocks are going to change.
  9. Yes they are obliged to keep her job open. They should take on a temp. They are cutting costs. Simple as that.

  11. My assistant is due off in a few weeks. She could take a year off but might decide not to come back. My employers seem to think that enough of her work can be distributed elsewhere so a replacement isn't required. I know what these people are like (the distributionees). They will do f all. It's taken me several years in this job to get things working more or less professionally. Now I see that work going down the pan. I'm tempted to look for other employment but given ageism is a reality I don't know if I should even try. Given an important aspect of my salary is a bonus based on KPI's and I can see those targets not being met, what should I do? I'm not expecting a definitive answer but if anyone has had a similar experience I'd love to hear about it.

  15. Other channels exist because of adverts. I've never watched Netflix or Amazon Prime but I guess they have radio stations as well and local TV news.....or maybe not. By the way Ross is on ITV not BBC.
  16. I am RD and promise to see the season through including wet Tuesday's in Stoke.......

  18. What's that expression about a gifthorse?
  19. At least there are obviously places where they do let it 'settle'. My limited experience is that barstaff here just fill up the glass.
  20. I can't actually remember ever stealing anything material. I was though a co-conspirator with a friend when he kneeled down as if to tie his lace and broke a little capsule which contained a stink bomb in Quinnsworth. Obviously none of you realise how many Our Fathers or Hail Mary?s you might get as a sentence once you confessed to your crime. Bloody pagans....
  21. A big picture of a fox and a dog so people will know the difference.

Nero Nero vanished 5 years later. When did the cinema open? His last post suggests he may have been got at or did he just flee?

  24. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-YeIMQhX15I Rosie you're all right.........
  25. I thought from the title this thread was about Rosy using her nice bike as she missed a connection to/from West Norwood. A missed connection appears to mean something else altogether. Where have I been?
