  1. The Birthday Girl's favourite curry house is Omrith. Shall we go there on 25/2? We went last December - but it was a small group, so we could easily do it again.
  2. I could so the 25th looking at my diary .... OH, I see - would this also be a celebratory meal as well?
  3. I like Planes. Alot.
  4. .... or watch a random game the next day. Any old game. Just a bunch of blokes running round a field chasing a pig's bladder. Just the same.
  5. I say Jah Lush, perhaps you should seek out employment in Her Majety's Press? :))
  6. Ref Surma - I notice that my review from the last time we went to Surma were positive, noting that the food had changed and was "fresh and zingy". Go figure. NEXT CURRY CLUB MEETING: following the pattern of last year, I suggest Pistaccio Club w/c 23/2 - how about Tuesday 24th? Cheers M
  7. I watched them yesterday. They were going at it with some efficiency using a small caterpillar tracked tree shredder - what a Boys Toy. I wonder about the leaves on line argument. It is, after all, late winter, the leaves have long dropped. The twittering of the birds in the trees was one of the few pleasures of ED station. At least we will will have a clear view of the rats gamboling amongst the stumps as we stand unsheltered in the rain.
  8. GRENDEL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. What am inspired choice Strawbs based on sound advice no doubt ;-)
  10. A good evening with great company, 11 people came along to the Curry Cabin. It was good to see Dulwichmum who stopped by with her husband for drinks at the Adventure Bar. She looked lovely in the sack-cloth and ashes after her recent Jonathon Ross experience. I had Chicken Pakora to start and that was just piece of chicken tikka fried in batter and nothing to write home about. The Onion Bhaji that I did a swapsie with Lady Gooner for was light and flavoursome. My Lamb Tikka Dhansak was tough (the lamb not the lentils) although I sneaked a piece of Hannah6_6's Lamb Shank and that was tender and very tasty. My Sag Aloo seemed to be all Aloo and little Sag. I took a doggy bag home of Chicken Madras and Vegie Biriani, we will see what a day or so marinading in its spices does to the food. We paid ?24 each for starters, main course, sides, rice, nan, wine and beer - so good value, although with some reservations about the food. I havent rated Surma in the past as I have found the food rather unremarkable.
  11. Dm. Your face, it looks a little different. You look very much like, what is it? Ah yes - the Mummy of Tutankhamen. Strangely shiny, emotionless and lifeless. An improvement it has to be said. Has there been a little filler applied? Some essence of the excretions of nubile Au-pairs imbibed? Really you are too thin, your bones are standing out - what you need is a good curry.
  12. What evidence? The Bible is not evidence, its a series of stories cobbled together by a Roman Emperor who had a convenient semi-conversion to Chritianity, but kept his hand in with Sol-Invictus just in case. Super-natural hocum.
  13. How are you going to steer a horse round the aisles?
  14. A truely unique set of photos as ever :))
  15. Do they open on a Monday now?
  16. Oh that was YOU! I was wondering why a gorgeous young woman on her way to the gymn smiled at me. That wasnt cheery that was slightly puzzled, I have only met you once and I was very drunk - in my defence. I was thinking of starting a thread "Thanks to the lovely young lady who smiled at me this morning", now I dont have to. Have you done the usual stalker thing of Googling your friend's name?
  17. Bloody Hell it was cold today! Did I spot a flurry of snow down High Holborn? Its MONTHS until my caravan holiday to Weymouth. I tried to get myself in the Med-mood by having tapas for lunch, but the way the wind whistled under the door caused the tortilla slice to go cold and rubbery. Will this grey weather and appaling economic news EVER end? I fear not. :))
  18. "She's quite tall and brown and gorgeous ringletty hair" - well, that narrows it down... VBC, are you starting to think "Oh no, what HAVE I started" ? :))
  19. Miles, do not allow stage fright to disappoint the Laydeeeeez. Could be a flop. That would never do.
  20. Table booked for 8.30. Given the position of Curry Cabin can I suggest that we meet in the Adventure Bar at 7.30 (for those that want to)? They have a 2 for 1 offer on cocktails and one of their bottled lagers until 8.
  21. Corned beef sandwich with tomato, mayo and dijon mustard. Num nums.
  22. Its the Pope. I know it is. Jesus told me.
  23. I had a vegie samosa and onion bhaji from the East Dulwich Supey. Samosas - nice. Bhaji - too dry.
