  10. I am a complete pleb, but where is St Thomas More?
  11. I will happily come along as a bellowing backing singer (tone deaf). I had a lactating donkey but Dulwichmum killed it.
  12. Thought I would bounce this back up again. Friday the 14th of December at The Plough, 8pm onwards. Dress to impress. How you impress is up to you. Tis the season of goodwill to all men and women.

  16. Hi Kyle Gatwick airport is someway to the south of London, you need to get a train from Gatwick to London Bridge station and then a train from London Bridge to East Dulwich station. I suggest you buy an "A to Z" of London (its a street map book) from WH Smiths (a magazine and book shop) a either Gatwick or London Bridge. As a US citizen you wont be eligible for state benefits, do you have a work visa? Some places might take you on without one, but it would be difficult. Not sure that ED is the bestplace to start for a place to stay in the first instance. If you are on a limited budget you might want to search for the Travellers Hostels that cater for young travellers - there are a few near London Bridge (St Christophers and the Dover Castle for instance) there are many over in West London in ad around Earls Court.
  17. Timicom, nobody is criticising the aim of the event, but your comment that it was "accesible to all" is not accurate. Goose Green is a public space and this was a great way of using that space; but the event was not inclusive because of the way that the space was used. It does feel like the "greatness of the cause" is being used as an excuse to criticise people who voice an opinion that the event was less than perfect in some areas, an element of the Emperors New Clothes. If you want people to come on board then dont p*ss them off by critising their preferred mode of child transport or ramming so many stalls into a tent that people will have difficulty getting around. A bit of thought in this regard does not cost money.
  18. Is this she.? >:D< http://www.dkimages.com/discover/previews/872/30038707.JPG
  19. Was there much radio coverage of sausage making in Ireland back in "the day"?
  20. These Sausage makers, are they blessed? As in "Blessed are the Sausage makers" "Here, why are sausage makers so special?" "Clearly, he doesnt just mean sausage makers, they are indicative of all makers of pork based products*
  21. I guess that is one of the functions of the forum - to act as a virtual community where tips can be passed on. The Forum does seem to be chilli obsessed though.
  22. Mango (not ripe) in Sainsbos = ?1.20 Mango (ripe and sooo tasty) from one of the Peckham market stall holders = 50p
  23. Never being a big fan of Xmas my Mum always hated the Xmas tree thing, so there was a battle every year to ensure that one was procured. They got small every year, but we still has the same quantity of inceasingly tattered decorations. The battle continued when I went to collage, of course I wasnt around in the run up to Xmas to make sure things happened and would have to go trailing off to take my pick of whatever scabby offerings were available a few days before the 25th. I finally gave up when I got home one Xmas to find that the decorations had already been used by my Mum - to decorate the family cheese plant. I gave up and now prefer to spend Xmas with friends who know how to celebrate the season properly.
  24. OK - I can see the point re limited budget and the fixed size of the tent. I think you squeezed to many stalls into the space available. There was plenty of room for other tents outside, many potential stall holders would have been able to bring their own. More stalls = more people who would be attracted and so more people to whom you could have communicated to.
  25. *Right, are we having a do? I'll put my party frock on* http://www.bbc.co.uk/southyorkshire/stage/panto_2003/images/les_dawson_150.jpg
