  1. Not a word. Not proud of my lack of linguistic skills though.
  2. Good street lighting is a H&S issue, but it can be done in a way that is not too intrusive. I have a happymemory of being on Lesvos during a powercut at night. Absolute pitch black darkness, no clouds, lying flat on my back watching the pin-prick lights tram-lining across the sky - satellite spotting. As I walk up Lordship Lane, I see the Light Pollution in East Dulwich and reflect on the relative merits of light and dark. ;-)
  3. Too true Keef. They have got their business model right. What the queues also show is that they dont have enough competition. An additional high quality Butchers on their patch would soon up their levels of customer service I think.
  4. I shall be in Berlin this year. New Years Eve is, by the way, my Birthday.
  5. There's a dirty great sign half way up Dog Kennel Hill that tells you exactly what is happening. Well, its not exactly half way up the hill and as there is no project plan, budget or KPIs on the sign, it is not exact. The Estate is being refurbished in consultation with the residents. Which residents are being consulted is also not identified.
  6. Liz, one of the Practice Nurses is good at her job and is very nice. Dr Addo - nice chap.
  7. Not Michael Jackson's chimp then?
  8. I think that makes it: Sean, Keef - ish (tbc), Alex and pal, Brendan Bagpuss Annasfield & Claire C UltraConsultancy and me, so far. Plenty of time for others to join. Are we OK to start with Tandoori Nights for the first?
  9. Fair enough Mockney. For info to all, please dont feel that you are making a commitment to attend every time we go for a fine ED curry. I think people will drift in and out as the mood takes them and circumstances allow. Perhaps a trip to Tooting some time in the future.
  10. Are you coming to the Curry Club MP?
  11. Hmm "slop" is not a word I would use to describe most of the Asian food that you get round here.
  12. "Old" as in "not new". It was a 60's/70's monstrosity. The grass areas around it were never used. Hopefully the new building will be more habitable. They seem to be refurbishing the Dog Kennel Hill estate rather than tearing down. I think those old Corporation of London estates are structuarlly sound and well built, but were not loked after as well as they could have been.
  13. They do seem to have a policy of sending things back if they have been hanging round for 2 weeks. So, a good approach for them is to not deliver it, not tell you its there and after 2 weeks send it back. Their problem thus being solved.
  14. I used to live opposite. You are correct, it was an old Council block that was very shabby and run-down. I saw an armed Police siege there once - ah London's street theatre.
  15. I used to live at the junction of Ivanhoe Road and Bromar Road and for quite a long while had the joy of the P13s turning the corner from Ivanhoe onto Bromar and vice versa. Bloody noisy and of course when they met each other head on - chaos.
  16. Dont you dare bite me, well, perhaps a little nibble .....
  17. My witterings often surpise me HeidiHi - its all my own work. Nobody else would take responsibility for it.
  18. I'M A BLOODY RADISH NOW YOU INCOMPETENT!! Stop this now, not funny. Put that salad cream down.
  19. It is Thursday for Sean is the principal Hand-maiden of the blessed Keef. Would love to do EDT Comedy this Thursday but am going to see the Terracotta Army, well as there are only a few of them over here, it is really the Terracotta scout troop.
  20. See, when the "Anglia" intro theme started - I was expecting it to be followed by .. "Live from Norwich ...."
  21. It aint so. In Turkish..
  22. Lovely . Can you please turn me back into my normal hideous gargoyle like self DM? I am sick of being a pumkin and my bum itches.
  23. Well its still either Tuesday or Thursday - only Keef has expressed a preference - for Thursday. So unless someone violently objects it will be as Keef decreed - for Keef is Lord and we are his subjects.
