  1. Great to see three new people at our meeting on Thursday. Good time had by all. We are leaping effortlessly over May as we should try and return to the first Thursday scheduling to ensure accountancy-accurate diarising and thus avoid dissonance between curry clubbers. Bringing CC back to local establishments, I suggest Jaflong on East Dulwich Road http://www.jaflong.uk.com/ We can meet at the Gowlett for drinks beforehand https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g186338-d732442-Reviews-Gowlett-London_England.html Has anybody tried India Gate on London Road, Forest Hill? If so, what is it like? What do you think?
  2. We are in the pub, Sat by the fire.
  3. > Crikey, Radiant Bhuna, that doesn't sound very > comfortable! There are no windows, for a start! They need daylight to function?
  4. Accommodation for the Drivers between the morning and afternoon runs? If the coaches are staying their throughout the day, the Drivers need somewhere to stay.
  5. Good grief! You must stop following me Mick Mac, its quite unnerving. It wasnt for me, it was for somebody else.
  6. Table booked at Omrith for 8pm. Meet in Watson's General Telegraph from 7pm. https://www.watsonstelegraph.pub/ Omrith is next door to the pub.
  7. We are going ahead. I have had a few private messages from other attendees. Thanks all!
  8. Anybody? If not, fair enough. I will cancel and maybe re-arrange the next one for early June.
  9. Put it on "Items Offered". Somebody will take it for logging if it is free to collect.
  10. Indeed. It is this Thursday. Who is in? XX
  11. I have a Dualit, which is quite quiet, although, much like aircraft noise or road noise, it depends on your personal benchmark. I also use the wire mesh bundles to keep the scaling down. They will never stop scaling, but it does mean that I only have to do a proper chemical descaling every few years. When fully entombed in scale, you can revive your bundle by bashing it with a mallet under a gently running tap. The scale crumbles and comes away from the mesh with some vigorous whacking.

Roast chicken from the site shop, fresh baguette and croissant with fresh coffee. Lovely. The Dordogne. Punting through underground lakes and rivers, the Lascaux caves, wine and cheese. Staying in a static in a wood, being surrounded by rabbits every evening, waiting for their share of the salad. Feeding the resident pair of coypu with stale baguette every morning. Languedoc-Roussillon. Beachside campsite. Trips to Carcassone and Beziers, cruising through the Pyrenees, full of Cathar history. Going down the Vallee de l'Aude, spotting the signs to Rennes le Chateau and driving to the top of a mountain to explore the quiet and dusty village with its now famous church. This was many years before Dan Brown made it famous in The Da Vinci Code and the village was all-but-deserted with one small bookshop selling multi-lingual versions of The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail. Rather different now I suspect.
  13. Looks like a tightly calibrated cruise missile strike on facilities linked to gas warfare with a response of "outrage" from Moscow, but also some relief that it wasn't as destructive as it could have been. It will be interesting to see if future analysis will see Trump's earlier sabre rattling bluster as being part of the strategy to ramp up the theoretical threat so that the actual strike can be positioned as being a moderate response.

  15. I wondered when somebody what spot my deliberate mistake :0 It's Thursday (as ever) 26 April.
  16. OK. That's decided. Omrith it is. Meet at Watsons General Telegraph pub at 7pm-ish and eat at 8pm-ish. Omrith is next door to the pub https://www.watsonstelegraph.pub/
  17. Excellent. Has anybody got any restaurant preferences? We havent ventured up Forest Hill Road for a while - to Omrith https://omrith.co.uk/ or, on the Lane, Tandoori Nights http://tandoorinightsdulwich.co.uk/ or, we are open to suggestions.
  18. No problem Shaila. I guess we should start thinking about the next meeting. How about Thursday 25 April folks?
  19. Is there any empirical evidence that M&S has significantly increased the number of cars parking in ED? Or are we just guessing? or, it stands to reason? or, a bloke told me in the pub?
