  4. And analysis paralysis isn?t the answer either....!! Let?s just leave them to it as we don?t want to risk ever offending anyone.... moment Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Public exposure in this way still smacks of taking > the law into one's own hands . > > And I don't agree that if other mechanisms don't > work that public exposure is the answer* - it is > too open to abuse . > > I'm not sure if other mechanisms were tried here > ? > > It might be difficult and tedious ( collecting > evidence and following the law can be ) but there > have been succesful prosecutions brought where > photographic evidence has resulted in a conviction > > https://www.great-yarmouth.gov.uk/article/3499/Pub > lic-thanked-as-Great-Yarmouth-Borough-Council-secu > res-20th-dog-fouling-prosecution-in-under-three-ye > ars > > https://nappyvalleynet.com/community/viewtopic.php > ?t=97988 > > https://www.stroud.gov.uk/news-archive/dog-fouling > -costs-owner-1-000-after-stroud-district-council-t > akes-him-to-court > > * I appreciate it was not put as strongly as that
  5. Apologies Sue for not being clear enough: I AM BORED... Now can we get back to discussing the topic in question or shall I start a new Petty Betty thread in your honour...? 6. Enough of this baiting please, you made your point now please move on as it makes for very boring reading. You two should meet for a beer and thrash out your ?differences? in person..... pk Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > DulwichFox Wrote: > -------------------------------------------------- > ----- > > I have agreed with Admin not to further comment > on > > aspects of safety in the area here on EDF. > > I.E. 7. We are in Croxted Rd and it sounds too close to be Alleyns... Thank god it?s finished, dogs not happy!
  8. If they manage to slow down the speeding cars then thumbs up from me!
  9. Annette Curtain was always my fave especially when teamed up with Maxxi..
  10. And if the product from the store happens to be broccoli or a turnip then it?s win-win for all.. ;0) heArtfulDogger Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I keep on seeing adverts for a high street shop > giving away minature food item collectables for > children when ?20 is spent > > https://www.thegrocer.co.uk/marketing/mands-giving > -away-plastic-toy-collectables-in-little-shop-prom > otion/595425.article > > Is it morally right ? > > In my honest opinion it creates two levels of > pester power for parents > 1 to shop there to get the collectables > 2 as most of the collectables are products from > the store, kids will pester their parents to buy > the real thing > > Some are ready meals > > In this age of obesity and parents feeding > children meals high in fat, sugar and salt due to > time restrictions, is it good to push the products > via collectables on children? > > Would it not be a better option if all of the > collectables were fresh fruit and veg with some > child friendly recipes to encourage children to > eat healthily ? > > What's your thoughts parents (and non patents ) of > East Dulwich ?
  11. Finally... someone posting something relevant to the topic....! Any place which sells Mac n? Cheese can?t be bad...! 12. I?m confused.. isn?t it just another forum..? If you don?t like it then surely you should just stop looking at it and leave them to get on with it. I was on West Dulwich Forum for a short while but deleted it as it took boring to a whole new dimension. 13. I have met this lady and dog on numerous occasions in the past whilst out walking my dogs and I can honestly say she has always been very pleasant and mindful of her dog. For the record, I have never had, nor observed any issues whatsoever with Roisin - she is quite lively however still fairly young from what I saw and so I would be very surprised if she actively showed aggression towards an individual. I haven?t seen her around for a while however I will keep an eye out for her and make her aware of the above in the hope she will contact you to discuss and hopefully take the necessary action to ensure it doesn?t ever happen again.
  14. I see people driving in the bus lane all the time way before the dotted lines before turning left so, whilst I?m not saying this is the case in your situation, it doesn?t surprise me if there are loads of such fines issued on a daily basis..!
  15. If no one has bothered to mention it then why do so..? Trying to start some fireworks of your own are you.. :0) Just because something is a ?hundreds of years old tradition? as you phrase it, doesn?t make it necessarily a good thing..! umdinger Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I know no one has mentioned dogs here, but it has > always bewildered me when people get on their high > horse about people setting off fireworks on Guy > Fawkes night, saying they shouldn't be doing so > because their precious dog doesn't like it. > > Right, so everyone should stop doing a hundreds of > years old tradition just to please you and your > dog....
  16. Very bad idea in my opinion as the opportunity for something to go wrong in such an exposed space is huge - even in the enclosed parts I have seen dogs jump the fence in hot pursuit of a squirrel.. Even in the quieter parks such as Belair the risk is still as high as there is a constant stream of dogs coming and going, mostly off-lead. Dogs can be predictably unpredictable when instinct kicks in..! As an alternative, I wonder if you could find someone with a fully enclosed back garden who would be happy for the cats to roam around.
  17. Imagine if someone opened something really controversial..... like a sex shop! Mamma Mia...!!
  18. This is all a bit tedious now.... it?s beginning to feel like a poorly-scripted soap opera. You should all set up a group chat on WhatsApp and peck away at each other :0))
  19. I had to check this place out for myself today and I was not disappointed...! It?s not cheap but other than that, the interior is well-presented, chatty down-To-earth types behind the counter and most importantly of all, an impressive range of sweets on offer to suit most. I spent almost ?20 in there, a fair portion of that was on chocolate honeycomb and my only real complaint is that most of it appears to have been eaten already... All in all, a welcome addition to LL and hopefully one which is here to stay.
  20. Brilliant...! pringTime Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Yes I think I saw this happen - were you the lady > in red? Have to say I'm impressed that you've > managed to tell the story... > >
