Because of his status with the fans, Dalglish was always going to be given more time than Hodgson, regardless of whether his record is better or worse. What comes across in Otta's earlier post is how much sway the fans have, or would like to think they have, in who gets to manage their club. If Dalglish does go, FSG need to appoint their own man, not who is most popular with the fans. Although I don't agree with the FA's decision to appoint Hodgson, at least they have gone for their own man. I'm afraid Hodgson's on a hiding to nothing with the press because they wanted Harry, whereas most fans will still get behind Hodgson and the team.
