  1. I fancy this years winners will come from the Madrid v Munich semi, and if Munich get through the final will be a home game for them. If Barca do win it they'll be the first team to win back to back Champions Leagues. Chelsea indeed looked very tired and pedestrian last night, infact I'm going to find out what the odds are on them losing to Barca, the FA Cup Semi and not qualifying for next years CL! :)
  2. You didn't hear this from me, but apparently Mad Frankie Fraser's abode is a retirement home in Nunhead...allegedly
  3. Never knowingly undersold...unless you bought it on the internet

  9. I lost the BBC channels, but they came back after retuning TV. On the 18th I think the ITV channels will disappear, so TV will need to be retuned again.

  11. Bluerevolution Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > RD did you get tickets for THE game? I'm not holding my breath BR. Ticket applications only available to Executive and Season Ticket holders, and that closes at 08:00 BST on Tuesday 10 April. Bound to be oversubscribed and drawn by ballot. I can't see anyone who gets a ticket not wanting to go.
  12. Welcome Kowloonatic, Villa should be safe, but I think Brum were in a similar position before they were relegated last year...so keep biting those nails ;-) I will plump for Wigan and QPR.

  14. It's past midday, so it's officially the weekend. This one's for UDT, go on, you know you want to :)...
  15. I never thought I'd see these words in the same sentence...Peter Crouch, goal of the season :)
  16. I'm sure Dalglish will be given another season, afterall he's got 1 cup in the bag and a good chance of winning another. The owners don't strike me as knee-jerk types, and look to be in it for the long haul. I would've thought a new ground was top of their 'to do' list.

  18. Otta said... If that doesn't fit the profile of a 'glory hunter' I don't know what does ;-) To be fair, I think this applies to any club that has a degree of success, success of course being relative. I'm sure during and after their recent FA Cup exploits there were more Stevenage fans walking around the town centre in their club's shirt, sharing in the civic pride. ????'s is right to suspect there will be more Citeh shirts on view in the future, success = glory hunters, it's more to do with human nature rather than specific clubs.

Fans allegencies at this time of the season can get notoriously complicated. The fans cheering the Citeh goals may well have been Chelsea/Utd haters, but they also might have been Arsenal/Spurs fans wanting Chelsea to lose more than Citeh winning, because of the Champs League situation. When two of Utd's rivals are playing each other I tend to hope for a draw, that way both teams drop points. It's not always that easy though, when Citeh and Liverpool played in the recent Carling Cup semi, a draw was never going to happen, someone had to go through, so it came down to which team did I want to lose the most, rather than wanting one of them to win ;-)
  20. Gingerbeer pounds the sidewalks of Iowa in preparation for the Barry Barry Road Race... http://www.theprezzyshop.co.uk/camberwick_green/camberwick_green_images/cgq02b.jpg Fast forward to the future... Waiting in the Clockhouse beer garden, MP can't wait to prolong the 'special relationship' that exists between the UK and USA, by introducing GB to the terribly British concept of 'getting one's oats'...
  21. A classic indeed, taped it back in the day when I used to listen to Piccadilly Radio up in Mcr, the DJ thought he was being clever by syncing in Adam and the Ants' Ant Music, I kid you not...meanwhile another classic from 1980...
