  1. Maybe there should be a level below the lounge? The dungeon perhaps.
  2. Got really sick on whisky at uni, still can't go near it as a result.
  3. Keef Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Can't stand Clapton's music, but he is a good > guitarist! Bit harsh Keef! There's some good stuff in there! Cream were ace (Badge, White Room, Sunshine of your love etc). He can keep his Tears in Heaven though.
  4. Music shops no longer open, they close.
  5. Hendrix - amazing guitarist, if you like that kind of thing. All but around 6 of his songs are dull as ditchwater though. And those 6 include a couple of cover versions! Lennon - yeah was probably a gob-shite - but what has that really got to do with Lennon the musician? You really can't argue with his body of work. Fair enough, it was all down-hill after "Imagine", but you have to admit he'd set himself a pretty high bar. McCartney too, comes across as a complete eejit, but I can still forgive him Mull of Kintyre and Frog Chorus because of his Beatles output.
  6. John Lennon liked his heroin too. And Hendrix. I'm sure Doherty didn't invite all the media coverage of his sordid little life. He was a terrible mess long before he became tabloid fodder. It was the fact that he started seeing Kate Moss that made him such a fixture of the gossip columns. Blame the media for force-feeding his every move down our throats.
  7. Did anyone see "Tribe" last night? Very interesting programme. This week's tribe were from the Brazilian rain-forest, they first made contact with the outside world in the 1970s. Within something like 10 years of this contact they'd lost a third of their population to diseases. Most of their witch doctors died too and so they have now lost the ability to make their traditional medicines and are very much reliant on outside modern medical practices. Quite sad really.
  8. SOmething to do with Atlantis? ;)
  9. I hadn't realised that Homeopathy was just water with a "memory" of something in it. That re-inforced my sceptisism quite a lot. It did seem, however, pretty reasonable to accept that these therapies generally have a positive affect despite appearing to be little more than a placebo. If the practioners choose to interpret them in specific ways then that's fine too. What does worry me is if this is taken to the extremes, as mentioned earlier, where a woman gave her child natural remedies rather than take it for standard innoculations.
  10. Stop rubbing it in (6)
  11. A one week head-start and I'm only one point ahead of you. Is it too early to give up?
  12. You need to click on "latest points" on the left, to see how it's going. You've got 13 so far. Good, but not as good as my 25 so far MMMWAAAHHH HA HA HA!
  13. I think it's locked for the period of the "game-week"
  14. Sorry. It's quite an achievement to lower the tone of this thread.
  15. Hmmm, dunno, do you eat cock? (guffaw)
  16. I can't allow cow, that's more livestock rather than a partiular cut, similarly "Pig". I think you can get away with duck or chicken because that's what you'd ask for at William Rose. Also, lamb as in "leg of".

Google Fantasy Football scout. Oh - now > I've given away my secret weapon. Cool. I promise not to tell anyone.
  18. I've also heard "chicken" used as a term of endearment though. "How're you chicken?" "The chick with massive.....hands" "Eh-up chuck"
  19. I think you may be getting buggies and wheelchairs mixed up there.
  20. Surely not? You get lots of Gay people who have kids too.
  21. Love it! Can anyone think of any other meat-based compliments?
  22. There seem to be two types of buggy-haters: Type 1 as described by Alan Type 2: Young(ish) people who haven't got round to settling down and having kids yet. You just know that in a few years time all the Type 2s will have kids of their own and will be out there comparing buggy size and asserting their right to take young Trixy and Maximilan to the gastro pub with them.
  23. For the parents out there, there's nothing worse than getting any of the following stuck in your head: Balamory (theme tune and "which coloured house") Come Outside (look up, look down, look all around, up in the aiiiiiiiir or on the ground) In the night garden (yes! my name is iggle piggle, iggle-piggle-iggle-piggle wiiii-gle)
