  1. They certainly want to increase revenue from the stalls, but I have not heard about closing the road.
  2. Perhaps if they staggered morning intake over 90 minutes and the same for the afternoon might help?
  3. According to your link Andystar we should expect him to return to gaol within the year, which will be a great loss to ED society.
  4. I do not care about the flock wall paper, has the food retained it's high standard?
  5. A pair of great tits have moved into one of the bird boxes, they look so smart in their plumage looks like they wear little suits. I have to keep an eye out for moggies they, 3 or 4 of them, tend to come around and see if there is a free meal anywhere. The buds on the hawthorn are ready to burst on the scene, all fat and bloated. There's a pair of blackbirds that have colonised the garden as I put out the odd pear for them to peck at, but they have never nested here, due I suspect to the amount of feline activity.
  6. There is a moth spray from Lakeland for carpet use.
  7. Their pork loin is better than any ham anywhere in Streatham, I have not tried the polish plough shop yet but I intend to.
  8. They have a monthly dump day for big stuff in Germany too. A friend who was strapped for cash, furnished his whole flat with goods saved by driving around the neighbourhood the night before the official guys collect. They have different days for each area, which also helped. Would it be an improvement to have the same here?
  9. Who dare slag-off our favourite sweetcake wordsmith Moos. I'll set the dog on'em.
  10. Lying hound!
  11. Best steak I ever had was from a tiny butcher north of Killaloe on the shannon, he had no individual cut joints in the window, but half a cow hanging in the shop. I guess that was why it was so good, the time and way it was hung. I asked for some sirloin and he lifted his knife to what he considered about the right height and cut in to it, it was the most succulent piece of steak ever to land on my plate.
  12. At the hardware store on LL although they may have run out of stock of the traps if they're now active.
  13. I have murdered 3 of the little gits this week, first of this year. Playing havoc with the carpets, I shall have to replace them with nylon ones next time. I dont buy woolly jumpers anymore, I have turned to muppet skin (fleeces).
  14. I have been there with one other person in the place and I eventually left before they bothered to ask for my order. There is only one cafe that I would take 8 kids to woodie, and that is the cafe at the church in barry rd you really have to like kids to frequent that place.
  15. Sadly it all goes to show that the product is not as important as the marketing. The first of the American burghers that came over in the early 60's was the wimpey, and it was delicious and I could eat them till they came out of my ears they were soooo goood, but like most US goods not cheap. Burgher makers, or my digestive system, have deteriorated enormously since those heady days, when the pound was worth $2.8 and the euro was a figment of no ones imagination, a united europe was a dream and the USSR was a functioning group of backward countries waiting for electricity so they could see the light.
  16. pk wrote:-you were surprised that if you ate mcdonalds for every meal that it wasn't good for you? No, but I was surprised at how quickly (3 or 4 weeks) and the amount of damage to his liver which took him to a near death experience.
  17. Anyone seen the movie 'Super size me' I thought it deserved an oscar for the information it gives on mcD food, and it's effects on the body. I have never been in to a mcD since watching it.
  18. If you don't spend any of your hard earned there, they wouldn't survive long with their overheads.
  19. A family heirloom shotgun was given to me from my fathers belongings and although it was locked away in an upstairs cupboard I never felt safe with it being in the house. My brother asked me about it some years later, so I gave it to him there and then and I was relieved to be rid of it.
  20. Not so much a cuckoo, more a ruddy vulture, when you know what they charge for an education. Some of the teachers are very good, but there are some long term lemons employed there.
  21. macroban wrote:- Why not give away obsolete and damaged stock for free? It would avoid these problems. Because they have rent, rates, and most costly of all, staff to pay.
  22. EDD have a delicious date and walnut loaf which is soooo dangerous, because you don't stop eating until it is finished. It is small and costs around ?3.50 and you can eat it all by yourself. yum yum.
  23. Never done it myself as I am very old but it obviously works for some, and from what I read on this forum I can understand why. I feel attracted to some posters merely by the content of their posts and replies. I guess it is the fear of the nutter which stays most peoples hands at giving it a try, that and the difficulty of ridding yourself of an 'unsuitable' type. Having been married and divorced I have no real incentive to risk the same ordeal through the divorce courts if it all goes wrong, although I would be happy with a lover possibly. Or if that fails, just the odd shag 'd do!
  24. Well done, FitLizzy may be more apt.
