I dont know, I have not seen it in operation.

I agree Nero. I know for a fact that this forum can briefly influence a restaurant's takings when praised on here. I do not think it can put anyone out of business, unless that business was rubbish and going out of business anyway, but I believe it can accelerate it's position.

I had one of the feeders with a glass tube for small birds to feed at, the following day it was empty. After refilling it I watched and saw a pigeon hang on to the base and tilt it, the perpetrator did not eat, but the rest of them did as the seed poured out of the small bird feeding hole on to the ground. Moral of this story do not buy any thing with a glass tube if you have pigeons visiting your garden. I have less pigeons calling since one was caught by the sparrow hawk, it looked like a red indians war bonnet lying there with all the feathers spread out in a semi circle around the remains of the carcass.

Is ED about to experience another property boom?
SteveT replied to Emily's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Quids wrote:- A boom!!!! No way and as was pointed out the excessive housing boom of the past few years is a major reason we are in this crap..... The major reason we are in this er crap is because we can no longer manufacture and export our goods competetively. Most jobs today seem to be in front of a screen, not weilding tools. The housing boom and bust adds nothing to our economy no matter how important the government thinks it is, they are master delusionists and do not have a clue how to make this country of ours profitable. Bunch of crooked, expense grasping, no hope toss pots, I heard some one mention somewhere, I think it is derogatory saying such things about the greatest government in the world. -
Coference pear and jonagold apple trees in lidl for ?4 today. I thought they were a bargain basement buy to plant a fruit giving bird pirch in the garden

That ad is the most sickening and shockingly accurate PGC, it actually made me feel a bit queasy and rather shaken. Good post in spite of the realities.

Good for you poppylucky I quite agree, and I think KK has gone a bit over the top although she is normally a sane relaxed poster, it proves we dont get it right all the time. The pea brained bruiser dog owners club, are seemingly too arrogant to look after their dogs in society, it is somehow beneath them to clean up, it is not macho. To challenge one as you so courageously did takes 'balls', and I very much admire your determination and tenacity. Why should these brainless louts inflict their filth on the rest of us.

The blossom on the pear and victoria plum trees in the garden point to a bumper crop this year, provided the weather doesn't go berserk. The rhubarb is just showing through, and the grape vine has swelling buds, it is all looking good and healthy this year. I planted some early crop Duke of York from Plantnation in upland rd as they sell them in small quantities which is helpful. Never grown this variety before so I shall see how palatable they are and how well they crop. I have planted runner beans this year for the first time, they can grow up in front of the shed. Must get some canes or perhaps trim a few pieces off the bamboo.

I would be quite happy to pay ?12 a year for the pleasure of keeping the forum open and functioning, it is the only business in this neck of the woods that is still expanding even in these 'crunchy' times. I would like to see my annual subscription buy shares in this forum which might then enable it to be franchised to create similar forums country wide and the subscription then becomes an investment which could be sold on. Admin I hope you read this.

macroban wrote:-If this is for real it will be published in the Court Circular tomorrow. I sincerely hope you have the skills to rigourously search, copy, and put it up on here macroban, as my credibility is at a low point due to a recent posting, I need all the help I can get. PGC as you rightly say they don't break down, 'it failed to proceed' was the description from RR.

what is this forum about? Read a couple of pages meat&potatoes it is self explanatory, provided you can read and understand basic English script. It is full of witty remarks, informed comment, and pleasant people. Get stuck in, live dangerously, take a risk, but don't get banned!

I saw a maroon Rolls Royce without number plates double parked and surrounded by police motor bikes (and no one writing a ticket) about 10am today in Peckham Hill st. It also had an emblem of a crown sticking out above the windscreen, what is a royal personage doing in this neighbourhood? Slumming?

I certainly didn't post this to infuriate anyone SMG and I have never heard of Snopes until today *Bob*, it was posted in good faith PGC and TLS thankyou for the positive stance. Yep, I do feel really stupid now BBW.

What a perfectly horrid experience, what a dreadful, dire little man, to treat you so rudely. What a useless employee not to have taken the ugly situation in hand. I think you have done the very best thing by closing your account. Find a more amenable bank to trade with, where you will feel more relaxed to do your transactions. It is one of those upsetting scenes that we can all do without, but eventually we all have to deal with them in life and hopefully move on, with as little aftershock as possible. I would rather not do anything about such a scene that would remind me of it in future days weeks or months. I am rather cowardly I guess, I would rather let it go just so I'm able to move on with my life without prolonging the misery of persuing some possible case with a bank which is for you, now, history. Best of luck with your new bank. Go to bed with a couple of shots of your namesake.

Notice on car (not a joke) Just last weekend on Friday night we parked in a public parking area. As we drove away I noticed a sticker on the rear window of the car. When I took it off after I got home, it was a receipt for petrol. Luckily my friend told me not to stop as it could be someone waiting for me to get out of the car. Then we received this email yesterday: 'WARNING FROM POLICE BEWARE OF PAPER ON THE BACK WINDOW OF YOUR VEHICLE--NEW WAY TO DO CAR JACKINGS (NOT A JOKE)' ... You walk across the car park, unlock your car and get inside. You start the engine and shift into Reverse. When you look into the rearview mirror to back out of your parking space, you notice a piece of paper stuck to the middle of the rear window. So, you shift into neutral, unlock your doors, and jump out of your car to remove that paper (or whatever it is) that is obstructing your view. When you reach the back of your car, that is when the carjackers appear out of nowhere, jump into your car and take off. They practically mow you down as they speed off in your car. And guess what, ladies? I bet your purse is still in the car. So now the carjacker has your car, your home address, your money, and your keys. Your home and your whole identity are now compromised! BEWARE OF THIS NEW SCHEME THAT IS NOW BEING USED. If you see a piece of paper stuck to your back window, just drive away. Remove the paper later. And be thankful that you read this e-mail. I hope you will forward this to friends and family, especially to women. A purse contains all kinds of personal information and identification documents, and you certainly do NOT want this to fall into the wrong hands. I thought this message was worthy of a viewing on the forum, it dropped into my emails earlier today.

How many more times must we participate in this fruitless round of clock changing? Why are we not on 'eurotime' like the rest of our European trading partners? Was it really caused by a handful of Scots farmers? We haven't changed the dialling codes for a couple of years either, isn't it time we changed them too, if only to make trading more difficult for the long suffering exporters. No! No, I'm not cynical.
