cars no longer rust after the first few months and car tool kits dont have cold chisels in them any longer.... cars use more energy in their construction that they can use ( and therefor "save" ) during their lifetime - often, the greener the cars, the more wasteful they can be, should you build in the construction energy expense cars now have the capability to last a lifetime ( dont laugh ) - so reusing and repairing cars is probabaly better for the planet at this lates pre collapse stage anyway But thats a very utilitarian viewpopint and we know that the majority of new car buying isnt becasue their old one is shagged or the head gasket has gone, but its a vanity decision - new car=visible bauble of success amongst peers etc and its fashion as well - the so called Chelsea tractors are more frequesntly bought by the proles than the toffs these days ( see also Golf GTI )

What, the one with the illegal number plates ? Its just a mondeo with a few badges on it - and a big slab of ego trip I cannot see the sense in buying a new car - company car owners aside - what benefit is there in paying a premium to buy it new as opposed to getting one 3 months old with 1000 miles on the clock for 20% less ? Its utterly insane & I see otherwise level headed people doing it all the time - it is worth several thousand / tens of thousand of quid ( in some cases ) just to get that brief shopping buzz ? Some would say its barking wasteful selfish etc etc etc

Youth Offenders move in by Goose Green Park!
snorky replied to Alicia's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
This isnt a Snorky post Im glad to say. Alicia - Im guessing this is more than just a helpful posting on your behalf & I am equally sure that you are more than familiar with this forum , although obviously not under the name Alicia - but dont you have better things to do - like the Daily mail Xword or pasting up that barking mad pro manarchist shite on random walls & disused shop fronts ? what a horrible , nasty and underhand post. Good riddance Alicia - piss off to Sevenoaks or whatever sterile turdhole you are buying in - would you have stayed if ED erected a wall around its borders to keep the scum out ? Poor quality troll. 1/10 -

IM not as textbook left, but have thought things through more to arrive at conclusions when yer young, its much easier to come out with whatever guff you have been given to read or your peers are quoting - thats why you dont see any swappies ( SWP ) sellers older than about 26 ( there are exceptions tho', as i see down at ED station soem mornings and often make a disparaging comment to )

Im not mysogonist- I despise everyone >:D< Its just on the balance of probabailities, its a litle hobbyette, a bit of late teen angsty chest beating and an excuse to smoke roll ups and pontificate to those that have sold out to "the man" - It is all probably jolly good fun tho' and I dont doubt her sincerity at the minute. I remember how niave I was at her age - it makes me shudder thinking about it.

Under your basic human rights, you dont have to admit anythying to anyone or supply this tyope of information - refuse to accept you were in the car / admit you were driving ( even if you were, you are under no obligation to confirm it to them ) and let them do the running - they cant chase you for a debt unless it gone to court and been found in their favour - and I have yet to hear of one that has gone to court Sadly, so many people pay the "fines" that its lucrative enough without the hassle of actually going thro' the legal hoops for the odd obstinate non payer like me. it doesnt excuse using disabled spaces though - private car park or not

Do You Know Anyone Who Has Been Mugged Recently?
snorky replied to gerry's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Did I say that ? The people who commit the crime are still criminals, but its a monster than few of us can claim to have no hand in its creation, espcially those based in the industries that feed and nuture this consumption monster -
mark my words- the actions of precocious white middle class anarkokidz will be the spark that ignites the flames of revolution in this country - until they finish University and get a job that is. its easy to be a radical with crusty Chic clothing and Dreads-lite and you have ther time & support to play the revolutionary for a couple of years A Bit harder to live this life when you are on the bottom and struggle to keep your heads above water

kids now want portable comsumer goods to make them look cool, they will mug other kids to get these and adults too. they know that ?300 quid phone you are loudly talking into will get them a month or two extra respeckt amongest their peers - the fac that they have fallen for this hype by the advertisers and marketers is closely related - kids are a huge market for the manufacturers of such tat as we all know ED is awash with people employed in marketing / advertising / creatives... blah blah blah are these kidz the frankenstiens monsters of these industries ? reap / sow scenario ? not exactlly I had this with Lidl and got to the bottom of it - its not an offence and they cant "fine" you , even if it appears to look like a fine - its a private matter involving acceptance of implied contract they could theoretically take to to county court for breaking a contract with them, but punitive penlties are not allowed under civil law- just compensation for loss incurred - and seeing as its a non pay car park, they cant lose anything - they have nevet actually gone to court as far as I know. anyway, they cant "fine" the legal owner/ registered keeper of the car or take out a summons on the car itself - a car cant make a decision as to where it drives , they have to make a summons on the driver that day and they need to be able to prove on the balance of probability that you implicitly accepted the terms of the contract when you were parking etc - they alos have to be able to prove that the person summonsed to CC was indeed the driver basically, its a load of ole toss, but if it keeps scum from abusing reserved parking bays, then Im not bothered ( not you of course ! )
