  1. So the logic is: Chainstore I lke = Good for everyone in ED Chainstore I dont like = bad for everyone in ED
  2. Not much choice here I spose - the el paso one is a bit rough, but does big cocktails - I am no tkeen of peas in my fajitas to be honest - sort of scares me a bit - OK if you ant a good feed with plenty of carbs and cannot face the shrieking cackling masses in the other resturants and bars although if you want authentic Mex food, then you need to go to the mean streets of brixton - the Dogstar has some on the best ive tasted in london....Mmmmmmm - seriously good.....just make sure you get an armed escort to your Humvee if you want to get out of Brix alive....

'strue though - it not as good as it was maybe 5-6 years ago and the food has more of a curry house feel to it, rather than a apecial night out feel

  5. One downer with ganap - you will utterly stink of fried food when you come out - cos of the proximity of lkitchen etc, you will have to shower when you get home and wash everything youve been wearing good food tho' maybe they should supply Asbestos removal contractor paper boiler suits on arrival ? the exta ?20 in dry cleaning bills does take the pleasure out of the evening, even tho' we sat right next to the front door - as far away as you can get.
  6. Not much - they will launch an investigation etc - the odd thing is that they got My PIN number as well as the card number - suggesting that ( as I suggested much earlier ) the much heralded Chip & Pin system has been utterly infiltratred by the stripey jumper and mask wearing underclass. Not tsoenmthibng they want to advertise as you may guess. at least with Ole Skool Crdit cards, you had to practice the signature to a passable standard - not its just a matter os cloning a card and memorising a 4 digit PIN number and visiting a handful of nominated "friendly" retail outlets in bBangkok or Egypt. It sure beats selling skag or burglary as a career choice I have to admit
  7. Ive have just tried to use my credit card for a ?7 purchase and guess what ? yes -it appears Ive been on a spending Spree in Thailand .Nrs Snorky is asking questions and doesnt beleive me when I tell her I didnt go to bangkok on Monday and try to buy some gaudy jewellery. Now then. I have not use * PETROL STATION MARE REMOVED* for some time, but I did fill up about a week a go at * PETROL STATION NAME REMOVED* near Goose green. ( Paul McCartney & Wings may recognise the name of this vendor ) this is karma - get rid of the Fat Wheelz and I will be forgiven.
  8. a local "face" and ex mayoral candidate owns the gaff.
  9. was it JK Galbaith who said that in times of a hat shortage, the least sensible solution would be to lop off heads ? lets think things through.
  10. People - this is a non event - seriously now - we do not need more buses on the route - I rarely have to wait more than about 10 minutes at rush hour if I go up to Denmark Hell - is standing room only on a 5 miunute journey going to kill you ? extra buses will still take as long to get to DH, whether they are full or not - its the cars that are the problem. maybe a better solution would be to make the entire route a bus lane between 07.00 and 09.00- no need for extra buses, less polutuion and less congestion. everyone wins if its that bad, then get up earlier / get up later and miss the rush hour silliest suggestion I have heard all year.
  11. Wots all this in the South London de=press ?
  12. PS, I still have a rather sexy idea for a profitable business shoud the right sized LL premises come up
  13. as a man of means, I must say that this is a non starter - Strangely enough, I did look into this some time ago , and indeed a whole parade of shops did come up for sale leat year - the price fetched was quite shocking and suggest that landlords have earmarked LL for mucho development and an increase in prices. I did consider LL a couple of eyars ago for a business idea - I shall go no further on this other than to suggest the my model was accurate and indeed estimates would have been dwarfed by the likely profitability of the venture in the next year or two - the problem being the paucity of good sized properties - there are a few leases for grabs, but the sites are utterly miniscule for my original idea. um.
  14. lets hope it Primark.or with a bit of luck, Lidl
  15. Dulwich medical pracice = run like a business The gardens = run like a doctors
  16. pah! seriously tho chaps/esses, dont mention the name of the suspected retailer in ED ?
  17. Told you...........petrol/ ED/ No names mentioned please Uncle Snorky knows all.
  18. I have heard rumours that Panther cabs have been harbouring and employing felons and wanted men such as Osma Bin laden recebtly. I ordered a cab to Victoria last week and Blow me down if it wasnt General Ratko Mladic at the wheel. In his Bosnian Serb dess Uniform no less.
  19. banks have mooted making customers responsible for frauds on their cards, but when realisation came that people may respond by reverting to a cash economy once again, the banks would lose a staggering amount in transaction fees/ interest on cards etc .... and any move by the banks would have to be across the board for all high street banks, otherwise people would just switch to a different bank that doeas offer fraud cover....and then we get into cartels and suchlike should the banks collude to collectively refute all fraud claims.....

  22. wont be an ATM - its is likely a rogue shopkeeper - petrol stations are pretty bad for it, due to hight turnover of cards. - they use an altered chip n pin machine to take all the card detail and a copy of your PIN at the same time, then transfer it onto a blank card for use.you process as normal and bcant tell the machine is messed with.card info is sold off witnionga few hours and cloned cards used all over the world.very few of the overseas sale/ shops involved are entirely innocent and usually party to the scam- eg the ?2K in bangalore in all likelyhood. Certain shops in Peckham Rye lane are used by bottom rung cloners with oddly surprising regularity - coincidence ? they "sell" phantom goods to the cloner, debit the catrd andf give the cloner half the sale in cash. The banks are not publicising this at the minute,as they marketed the chp n pin as the ultimate deterrant - but crims busted the system within about a month - the lebanese loop used at ATMS is crude by comparison & useed by bottom rung cruims nowadays.
