MadWorld74 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Snorky, > > What does ' not this effete theatre rubbish we see > nowadays' mean? > > Are you thinking of any production in particular? I dont mind a good old sing song at the theatre it must be said - reminds me of the old days when things were better. The problem is that theatre can't capture the action of a good film - can you imagine Charles Bronson trying to convey the emotion of Death wish 3 on a rickety old provincial stage somewhere ? imagine him sharing a stinky old dressing room with a handful of overmadeup confirmed batchelors, all twittering on about Beckett ? course not. One of the few benefits of theatre is that it gives OAPS something cheap to do on wet midweek afternoons and keeps a certain selection of "artistic" workshy ne-er do wells off the streets and away from lurking around public toilets for a few hours. As to specifics regarding productions ? I find that judging a book by its cover is invariably the correct approach when it comes to "theatre". You dont need to eat a dog poo to know its going to taste bad.

Do you think We weant to be successful, high flying, rich and handsome over achievers all the time ? Its very stressful you know it would be nice to do something less taxing sometimes - like looking after the kids - how hard can it be ? a few DVDs, a couple of litres of Lidl coke, a kilo of gelatine based candies and a family bag of tortilla chips is all you need to keep the kids happy all day.Its not rocket science you ought to try getting a proper job like men do - then you will know what work is like. -

Im sorry people, at the risk of being viewed as obtuse for the sake of being different, I really dont get off on The Guardian on Saturdays - too much needy bleating from non event writers.Too much Tom Stoppard.Too much middle class tutting. THe Gide is the best thing about it - unfort. the vermin Guardian publichers have ralsied this and now seal the Guide in a plastic bag to stop me from pocketing the guide gratis and leaving the rest of the smug waste of space to lie unwanted on the floor of the 7-11.

My Switch card's been cloned/copied/swiped
snorky replied to Mark's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
"Earlier this month, APACS released its full UK card fraud figures for 2006 showing that total losses have fallen by three per cent in the past year to ?428.0 million - a decrease of ?80 million over the past two years. Cheque fraud losses fell by 24% from ?40.3 million in 2005 to ?30.6 million in 2006. However, online banking fraud losses increased by 44%, up from ?23.2 million in 2005 to ?33.5 million last year" Interesting use of language - they fail to tell you that no-one uses cheques these days, hence the amount of fraud had dropped, they do however show a 44% rise in online fraud. As I mentioned before, the Banks cant admit that their much heralded Chip n Pin approach has been beaten within a few months of being introduced - Expect to see Banks start to reject fraud claims for the most spurious reasons and leave cardholders in the poo - they will also market further fraud insurance to the scared customers in an affort to offestt their snowballing losses. Theyse desperatley trying to dump the losses elsewhere - and that could mean problems for us plastic holders. When reporting my card cloned a few weeks ago, I was asked if I wanted insurance added to my account for the new card. I obviously refused. Thye asked why and I did flippantly stated that its not my money that being taken , its yours, so why should I pay for your losses by taking out insurance ? they didnt like it unsurprisingly - theres changes afoot, mark my words -
Im a veg, so cant comment on the burgers, but its F*ckin expensive for a meal. and I stuck the skewer into my cheek last time:( and got into an argument with the staff when they offered me some blue cheese sauce on ordering, then tried to charge me a couple of quid for the privilige.

Domitianus Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Or just completely get rid of any single-sex > sessions and thereby require people to grow up and > act like adults in a dual-gender world?????? I humbly suggest several completely closed sessions a week - where no one can go in and no swimming can be done - this way no-one get distressed by the sight of others of a different sex in the water. -

Sexual identity is one matter, bringing religion into the arguement reduces the whole debate into farce. You cannto choose your gender, but you make a conscious decision to follow a religion to make excuses and allowances for reglious belief, that impacts on others who do not follow your particualr thread of belief is wrong. You choose to follow a regligion that restricts your access to members of the opposite sex, then that your your problem - get on with it - expecting everyone else to make allowances to accomodate your brand os belief is simply unjust. Inclusion, yes, but at the cost of othered being excluded because of their gender ? no. -
are there any legal minds for a funny question

get their pix if you can.You should be able to ID their wheels as well - dont assume it a private car ither - it couls eba commercial vehicle or a black cab. Udnet the siege mentality we in the UK are now living, Im sure your snaps would be classed as contrary to the security of the state and they would react in double quick time, despite your earlier attempts to contact them. kick up a fuss as publicly as possible. Ask your local postie about anything odd going on and check how your mail is sealed when it arrives- they usually hassle the postie as a matter of course PS - hide the bomb making equipment and explosives paraphenalia first. I will send you a replacement copy of the anarachist cookbook when the ehat is off. PPS - of theyre checking out your crib, then they would not be doing their job if they were not checking out your 'net acess as well - so they could well be reading this. *waves* -
Damage to car on Nutfield Road - Grrrrrrrrr.....

I do think that some posters are starting to use stereotypes that would be considered borderline offensive to many in the real word - Pikey is a rather offensve term, as is chav & its repeated use states more about the mindset of the user than the subject of the remark.sort it out. PS - Skaghead however is perfectly acceptable.

Word. If you live in London, you will have to accept this tho' I had a lovely 911 and to remove a few ugly stone chips on the bonnet lip and the bumper, I had these bits ptofessionaly resprayed at a dealer not cheap but utterly immaculate. the very next morning I was looking ou of the window and saw a snooty bag who lived down the road ( I dont want to mention which road in ED) reversing into a space right outside her national trust colours painted house and scraping the bumper dowm to the plastic , whilst rocking the 91l on its suspension quite violently.I obviously rushed down to confront her within about 1 minute and she denied it.I showed her the damage and she denied that it was her & told me it must have been there some time / wasnt her / not her problem now this woman is a pillar of the local community, well respected & indeed well known, church goer, involved in charitable events and still lives in the same house in the same "very desireable" street. Now if a normal upstanding citizen refuses to accept blame, then It is unlikely that a random bad parker will volunteer to cover the costs. Oh well. PS I know this "lady" reads the M/board - maybe this will prompt her to come clean once and for all - but I doubt it - I dont want to mention the fact that you go out at night and scratch other peoples cars that you seem to think should not be parked there. Im sure there are a few ED residents wo would love to know who is responsible for it . I wont mention either that your version of what is right and wrong also includes filling up other peoples skips with your tatty old kithen units after dark - tut tut tut rant over:) -
why do you want to know ?

Noe then,. suggestion a) hard core brothel - may not be factuially correct in realtion to this building, but the ED Police are more than familiar with the sevices of the 2+ brothels within about 200 metres of north X road . By all accounts.
