Of course she has been treated badly - but why do people who try and use the press constantly to their own advantage bleat about it when the worm turns? I don't think she's bleating, as that implies powerlessness and the very reason she had a 'breakdown' (er, she didn't, she cried in frustration) on TV was because she was promoting her latest cause, which is actually a commonsensical one. She wants to see the press offer proper damages to people it wrongly pursues or vilifies for no good reason. Seems fair to me. She's a social alpinist, she married very well, she's had a shady past, but she really doesn't deserve to be hounded, for that is what it is. And she is smart and savvy - witness her acknowledgment of what the Guardian called her ex's 'Scouse chumminess' which allows him to be the victim and the victor at the same time. And is there sexism involved here? What do the women think? I think there is. Nero
