  1. I went to a meeting about the new Harris primary school and raised the problem of parking. I was assured that parents and staff would be told that, to come to the school, they would have to walk, cycle or take the bus and that agreeing to this would be one of the requirements for getting a job/school place. I told the official at the meeting that it would never work. I was right. Double yellow lines and even zigzag lines do not deter parents from parking where they want and a CPZ would be ignored. I object strongly to a CPZ.
  2. First we have extra long double yellow lines which reduce the number of parking spaces, then we have the prospect of CPR becoming a cycle highway with reduced parking spaces in spite of the vast majority of people asked said they didn?t want it and now the suggestion of a CPZ which would not help anybody park near their homes as all the displaced cars would be able to park in the side roads, being, I?m guessing, the owners of ?125 parking permit. Madness.
  3. Bic Basher, the junction did look good so the men must have only just left when I went past at 3. I don?t understand why they finish so early though.
  4. I went past the junction at 3pm and there was no sign of any work being done as the workmen had all gone!
  5. Considering the large number of men ?working? in Whateley road I do not understand how the progress is so slow! I wonder if there is a phone number on the barriers around the work. Maybe we could all ring whatever company is doing the work..
  6. Mariahatty, I think keeping a space outside your house for tradesmen is reasonable. I recently parked across two spaces outside my house because someone was coming to jet wash my blocked drain and obviously needed to park outside. I think that putting bins to save a space for the resident is pushing it.
  7. The work being done at the Whateley rd/LL junction is taking forever and doesn?t look anywhere near finished. 😡
  8. We?ve lost June and Leon, the lovely women from Brixton, one of the hair dressers, the awful vicar..
  9. Ideally I like to park outside my house but it is not my right to do so. I don?t understand the concept of ?stealing a space outside someone?s home?.
  10. I do not want a CPZ, thank you very much.
  11. It?s still open 24/7 which M&S most certainly isn?t..
  12. Is it Mark Newlove? He is brilliant..
  13. How do you know it?s the Lib Dem?s if you haven?t answered the door? And I wonder if you would be complaining about someone knocking loudly and aggressively...
  14. Thames Water told me never to flush cat waste down the loo..
  15. I live in ED and do not want a CPZ.
  16. Have you contacted your provider?
  17. There is nobody in the ticket office because the builders working on the adjoining flats damages the water supply to the station. With no loo etc, nobody can work there. I don?t know about the electronic displays though..
  18. Much of Dulwich park has notices about keeping dogs on leads but most owners ignore that rule which irritates me..
  19. Not another one!

I too agree: I wouldn?t touch an animal sold on gumtree, I got 2 of my cats for free from a friend and paid ?50 for the other one.
  21. I live near the new Harris primary school and see that many parents have interpreted the new double yellow lines as parking spaces just for them!
  22. I?m certainly enjoying being a member.. 😃
  23. Apparently the work at Whateley/LL will take 4 weeks!
  24. According to the news, around 20 000 homes in London are without water. There are also problems around the country..
