  2. Couldn't agee more on the right/left thing sooooooo old skoool. In my mind I am a socially liberal, economically dryish pragmatist. Not left wing or right wing...those are boxes for other people to put themselves in as far as I can see. I am just always tickled (rather than angry, honest) at the small time hypocracy (sic) and manifest inconsitsencies of many of those (and on the whole I don't mean people on here, honest) that consider themselves 'liberal' and 'progressive'; social media does illustate this splendidly of course, if not i wouldn't bother with it at all :)
  3. ..unless those thing are delivered more efficiently and/or some of those we decide we don't need even if we 'want' them . I miss my child benefit; i want my child benefit; i don't really need it as the past year(?) has proved.
  4. I was answering the 'ever get bored' question
  5. ..yup, but the cutbacks are cutting back on money we didn't have to spend and were borrowing to pay for not cos atx has gone south. Tax for most of us in London is still higher than in 2007 for example, especially if you throw in indirect tax (vat for eg). The only people who have had any tax cut since 2007 (note I said 2007 not 2011...but people will still jump) are the lowest paid in employment through increase in allowance (rightly). I too am (admiitedly just about) ok with the tax I pay, but do expect value from it.......
  6. Rubbish. I get a bit shocked when my little girl comes back with bite marks (occasionally) from other 4 year olds; i'd be mortified if any of my kids did it; a 27 year old millionaire doing it in front of a global audience including many kids is a fooking disgrace.

Nope, there's hours of fun in 'liberal' hypocracy
  8. ..or if the left doesn't like you you're guilty whatever? :)

  13. Not being a bah humbug....but from now on in the games tend to be less exciting (on average)....still some (most) I am thorughly looking forward to
  14. ...if you know a scout
  15. You can camp in tents above Dulwich Golf course and have a fire
  16. Absolutely. Ultimately this is where 'we' have power and social media can actually work well - not rules/regs/politicians interfering with markets - but, you know, "us the people". Don't shop at amazon if you think they avoid Corporation tax, and you think that matters...and let them and everyone know. Don't bank with Barclays/Llyods/RBS, etc if you reall think the bankers caused this mess Don't use retail businesses that don't pay a living wage if you believe in that

  20. I feel a sense of normality has returned we are now crap at both football and cricket again
  21. I'm talking about punishment not guilt, the two are seperate. i'm also slightly fishing.... but you've spoilt it now :(
  22. I agree Jah - I think it's a real pity Hoddle's other 'views' stopped his England career
  23. An amusing aside of all of this sort of thing is the temporary conversion of swathes of guardianista's from "prison doesn't work" to "hang, em flog 'em throw away the key" types :)
