  1. you've know grounds to call poeple who didn't think this would work "Inward thinking and nationalistic" it's just a fucking rude slur and so typical On the other hand we've every right to call you idiots
  2. Oh, so lets get into a car with no brakes to encourage community. Millions are and will suffer because criticims of the Euro was dismoissed as bigorty not common sense and still it goes on Go and ask the Greeks and Irish about mutual good and 'a bit of a mess' ...and most of us by next year. 'Type of people'... heard that for years from idealistic idiots who have wrecked whole countries...and our 'Type' are the bigots? Annoying for you that the 'Bigots' called this right...disaster for all of us that we weren't listened too
  3. I think we're mixing up our nostalgia here. There are two seperate but related issues 1) Big Band 2) Big new 'yputh explosion' type thing. On the first there will clearly be big bands not yet known but IMO largely without 2)....and just likely to be more retro=formulaic, there's only soo much you can do with a few chorsd/samplers whatever. Rosie's sort of right but the thing about say punk or the pistols is that they really, really did shock and scare many even 40 year olds, almost impossible to achieve nowadays as even a maony soon to be 50 year old such as me thinks 'pah, seen it all before' and grumbles into their real ale. When punk hit I got pulled up by my headmaster when my mate cut my hair and I stuck a safety pin through my ear - this bloke had been at D-day, he was actually scared by me...power, fantastic power. Even the 6th formers by and large looked at us with horror as we thought their heroes, Yes, Genesis and Greenslade's double gatefolded albums weren't worth pissing on. The last movement to do anything to shock was Acieeeeeeeeeed, and that was the last true mass movement. The truth is, you can buy any look off a peg, kids who don't know who the Ramones are wonder around in Ramones T-Shirts, Tory PMs agents die at Glastonbury, clubs, sadly, when I last went in my 40s, had plenty of (mainly blokes) older than me off their tits. It's too old hat now. I think Strafer is on the right lines in that the new youth explosion will be something didgital/gaming , whatever not sure 'music' has that power anymore
  4. Annette Curtain Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > How was re-hab btw ? > > > Nette:) I only lasted this long 'cos I know it winds *bob* up when he thinks others have cracked it
  5. Whilst I agree with your sentiment Curmudgeon, as someone who has lived in Spain and has family in Italy the oft quotted myth about well behaved european children is one that makes me chuckle no-end. They may not get noticed as much 'cos of the more outside culture but the little scrotes are generally allowed to run aound causing mayhem until at least midnight...they just accept it more
  6. Not interested in the battles in THAT League....keeping it real in The Championship
  7. The irony is Taper it woould have been a more transparent and effective test than the rubbishy fake 'conditions' they did use. The global economy is about to go down the toilet again 'cos of this idealsitic idocy and yet we still STILL get Little Englander shreaked at us for pointing out the uncomfortable truths that were always there to see about the whole stupid single currency fiasco

I agree with you SJ...no-one seems to have the paddle
  10. Arrrrrrrrrr.......Mr Ben's Middle Class Homeowner's Dilemma's Number 7 - Coming next "Explaining that I can put a shelf up but haven't the appropriate tools"
  11. I suspect it's a John Terry like gaff...manages to zip up all his prejudices and then suddenly THERE out they slip
  12. I think West Ham will go in freefall financially if they don't get up so I'll take 2nd whatever the football's like - fairly average but probably about the best we can hope for with the players we've got (plus a fair few injuries). Getting stuffed playing pretty football gets as boring after a while and it's a long slog out of this division. If it wasn't for two shoddy injury time goals we'd be just a point behind Saints too.
  13. Thank you.....well I'm still a few hundred off 10,000

  15. I've been chatting to my kids about Bonfire Night at an early age, it's began to get them aware of Parliament; how horrible punsihment was in the past; it's given them a sense of history, they are under 6 and they fascinated in future yaers I will expand on democracy; religous discrimination. I could add that much quoted quote on the importance of history The Colour Theif means absolutely nothing to anyone, it is horrible, supposeddly 'inclusive' nothingness dreamt up I suspect by the usual suspects. I don't see how anyone but gulit ridden white liberal idiots can see that this means anything. Traditions such as November the 5th is a chance in a live way to teach kids about our history, warts and all, and so learn from it The colour thief is just.............pukey

    Occupy London

I think they'll achieve nothing I'm not sure what they are offering They, here and in the US, are mainly middle class 'radicals' and usual hangers on BUT They are expressing some fairly general wide held dissaffection with 'things' AND It would be a sad day for the world if middle class youth stopped getting up to this sort of thing....so I salute them and their vague naiviety
  18. ...and as Quids Mr Medic ;-)
  19. As I've said before, personally the two groups I find most annoying in pubs are: - Twatty 20 somethings with stupid haircuts and opinions with crapy taste in music - Braying rugger buggers The pubs are absolutely packed with these tiring, noisy, think they own the gaff types all weekend WHY CAN'T EVERYONE BE JUST LIKE ME
  20. North Bank Upton Park "We're not the West Side, we're not the South Bank, We're the North Bank Upton Park" Hello Mick ;-)
  21. Ethical living in SE22 (X) Buy The Guardian (X) say the right things at dinner parties (X) er....that's it
  22. Turned down a fortune today so been celebrating with Foie Gras again Rosie?
  23. There's plenty of people who don't fit into that stupid (and US politics) map Hugenot, plenty...although interesting many of those on the 'left' and progressive side of it seem to think anyone who qusetion them fit in the far blue/right by default as I find out day after day on here. People who don't think for themselves just like to put poeple in their easy label boxes.....you know, using terms like 'Guardian Readers, 'Liberals' etc ;-)
